NFL London - which match would you choose?

There are three matches being played at Wembley this year it seems.

Jets vs Dolphins
Bills vs Jags
Lions vs Chiefs

I’d like to see one of these matches, but I’m not an expert on the teams’ current form.

Which of these do you think would be the best match-up in terms of entertainment value? I’d quite like to see a well-contested skillful match that isn’t a walkover, would like to see more than one touch down and a field goal (difficult to predict, I know), and not necessarily the best teams.

Lions & Chiefs definitely. Those two teams have a good shot at playoffs.

Miami’s great but they’ll kill the Jets.
Buffalo is expected to have a great defense (they’re on my fantasy squad), but the Jaguars are pitiful.

Yes, for sure. Chiefs/Lions would be the best two of those six teams. The Dolphins might be best, but it remains to be seen if they can live up to their promise.

That said, there’s a decent chance that the Bills and Jags are both so poor they end up evenly matched and play a compelling game.

Another vote for the Lions v Chiefs. Both teams are expected to be contenders for the playoffs, so it should be a good game.

No game involving either the Jaguars OR the Bills can be a good one, so that’s out.

The Dolphins look decent but the Jets don’t.

KC and Detroit are both decent and should be roughly evenly matched, so that would be my choice if I didn’t have an attachment to any of the above.

Bah. Just went online to buy a couple of Lions / Chiefs tickets and they’re sold out :frowning: Only Bills / Jags tickets left. Think I’ll give that a miss and watch from the couch.

I did see a couple of the previous International Series at Wembley and had great fun, so I don’t feel too bad.

Thanks for your input though everyone.

Lions and Chiefs are the best 2 teams in that bunch, for sure. Bills / Jags would be just torture to watch for a casual football fan. I’d expect not much scoring and generally sloppy offensive play.

Y’know I’m going to somewhat against everyone here and say the Bills/Jags might not be as terrible as everyone else thinks.

Sure, they may both be bottom 10, maybe even bottom 5 teams in the league, but it’s not a terrible matchup. I fully expect the Dolphins to roundly kick the shit out of the Jets, and I could easily see Detroit/Chiefs being a boring, defense-dominant game. Bad teams look awful vs good teams, but OTOH bad teams can at least have entertaining games against each other.

I said that.

Pro-tip: They don’t call them “matches.” They’re “games.”

You do realize the Bills went 9-7 last year, including a late-season win vs. the Packers that cost Green Bay home field advantage in the playoffs (thus probably keeping them from reaching the Super Bowl)? Or that they probably had the best defense in the league?

Yes I do.

I also realize they have Tyrod Taylor, EJ Manuel, and Matt Cassel at QB and an offensive line full of young, unproven players, and starring Richie Incognito. They will have a good defense, but they’re not the 2000 Ravens. Where’s the offense coming from? They can’t hand off to LeSean McCoy every play.

And did you know the Redskins won a late-season game vs Philadelphia that knocked them out of the playoffs? Who gives a shit?!

But they went 9-7 last year with an equally crappy QB situation. And that win over the Packers was arguably the single best defensive game by any team all of last year.

My point is that they are in no way one of the bottom 5 teams in the league. Your post made them sound like this game could be a battle to see who drafts first in 2016. That’s simply not likely to be the case.

Fair enough.
