Steelers and Packers are the teams the bye week clubs should be worried about, imho.
The Oakland vs Houston game just might be the most interesting to watch.

In the way a dumpster fire is interesting to watch, yes.
Exactly! What are we to expect? A 100+ point game? A game with all D scores, no O?
Trick plays out the wazoo? They’ve got nothing to lose. Except this game.
In a dumpster fire, someone may have thrown away a half full spray can of Pledge, Deep Woods Off, or oven cleaner. Talk about fireworks!
Or, it may simply be the most inept couple of teams in recent playoff history showering us with mistakes and missed opportunities. In a few hours, we’ll all know.
Would love to see a Cowboys vs. Texans Super Bowl in Houston. The state of Texas would go nuts.
Anyone arguing for an 18 game season should be forced to watch the tape of Raiders/Texans over and over
Yep. How many mistakes can two teams make and still have someone win?
My prediction was totally wrong.
It’s be a short trip. Oh, big yuks: Texas humor.
The Raiders lost because of a tragic transcription error from some archived Raiders information: Lester Hayes’ advice regarding the use of Stickum was written down in error as Slippum, and the Oakland receivers’ hands showed the results. I son’t know if I’ve ever seen that many passes flat-out dropped.
Yeah, there was an almost perfectly placed 40 yrd or so over the shoulder pass that Cooper dropped and I could feel the entire East Bay groan. He had a step on the defender, might have been a TD right there. The commentators mentioned the multiple drops, too. I forget what quarter, as I was doing crosswords online, the game sucked so much.
I really had no care about who won this game, and I really thought there was potential to be a playground type of affair. Nope. Missed routes, drops, procedural errors, etc… plagued both sides. Texans D played great, tho, and their O got together a couple of nice drives. Raiders never even got out of the locker room til late in the game.
Texans will be demolished in the next round, no matter who they play.
I watched the first 8 minutes of the Lions / Seahawks game before I realized I would rather watch reruns of 24 season 3 on Amazon Prime.
Today’s games should be good football. [crosses fingers]
I’m really looking forward to the Pack-Giants game. As for the other game in this not-so-wild Wild Card Weekend, I don’t think it’s going to be close…Steelers in a walk.
Giants fall behind early, can’t make up deficit because of dearth of offense. Eli reverts to characteristic facial expression when things are not going well - gee-Dad-won’t-let-me-have-the-car-Saturday-night.*
*it was always fun in the old days to see this expression paired with Tom Coughlin’s on the sideline. He was a master at looking confused and exasperated at the same time.
Steelers, who led the league in unnecessary roughness penalties this year, being the Steelers.Luckily for them, Miami is being Miami.
I do have to chuckle at the various anti-Giants thoughts that are popping up here (or, more precisely, anti-how-the-Giants-are-quarterbacked-and-or-coached). The New York Football Giants have won two Super Bowls in the last ten years, the ONLY team to have accomplished that feat. I remember back to the days of Joe Pisarcik, “The Fumble”, and I have to say that, whatever criticisms one might think to level at the Gints, most of their fans should be pretty damn happy with them these days.
The Steelers won the Super Bowl in 2006 and 2009.
I don’t see how being well-liked by fans negates the criticism levelled at them.
The 2006 Super Bowl was more than 10 years ago.
Not a good sign that Rodgers is distinctly not Rodgers so far. And, of course, there’s a critical injury.
Thank God, we’ve got one competitive football game this weekend.
It seems Aaron Rodgers completes more Hail Mary’s than the Pope.
Well, that was an interesting end of the half.
Rodgers is looking better, which is vitally important, but losing Nelson could be huge. Luckily, Cobb’s subtle pushing off skills showed up too. But I do want to see a much more balanced run/pass play calling in the second half.
I’m a bit surprised by the analysts picking on the Giants WR’s for drops. Beckham’s 3rd down drop was certainly a thing, but his not making the catch in the endzone and the two Shepard non-catches were really tough plays to make and not necessarily their fault. Expecting them to make those catches and calling them drops seems a bit much to me.
I’m very glad to see the Packers run defense showed up in the first half, and the holding the Giants to FG’s has been the biggest story so far.
Which doesn’t really count.
