I’ll cover that bet. If I win, you pay me 100 dollars. If you win, I pay you all the money on Earth in every denomination from every country.
As a Charger fan, I hate the Raiders on principle.
But seriously, watch out for the Chargers. With an All-Pro RB, and steady QB and the addition of David Boston, they’ll make a run for the AFC West.
I still don’t see anyone dethroning the Bucs, though. Maybe the Eagles will take it this year.
Can’t wait for the season!
My preseason pick last year was Bucs over Chargers in the Super Bowl… I was (almost) incredibly prescient…
the Raiders will be stronger than you think
…and older
That was my pick for last year. Did you realize that was the Superbowl in the first Ace Ventura movie?
Oh, by the way, I have to predict the Redskins to win the NFC East. They won’t get past the first round of the playoffs, though.
Atlanta over Buffalo in the Super Bowl. Vick wins MVP.
I don’t know if these are Fantasy Sleepers, but heres a few thoughts I had the other night that may surpise a few people.
Travis Henry of the Bills is probably one of the most overlooked RBs in the league. People know him, but he didn't seem to get much recognition for what a great year he had last season, partly due to the comeback of Bledsoe on the same team. He was great for my team last year. He is on a high scoring offense and put up about 1750 combined yards last year. He is a solid starter. And don't worry about Magehee being drafter by the Bills. He won't see much time this year. His knee won't be ready for much. Most of the players that have come back from similar knee injuries take 1.5 to 2 years minimum to get back to full strength.
Tiki Barber is the other one to look for at RB. His combined rushing/receiving yardage was almost 2000 yards. In addition, Kerry Collins threw for over 4000 yards for the Gaints last year somewhat quietly. With Jeremy Shockey emerging as a big target at the end of the year, he could do it again. Neither of these are guys is a pick #1, but if you get in that position where all the big backs or QBs are taken and you're looking for a solid weekly performer, consider them.
Also, no matter how good they may seem, don't pick a rookie QB. Charles Rogers is probably the best bet to have any fantasy impact as a rookie.
Interesting… I was thinking of taking Stephen Davis as my 2nd running back… Carolina has no passing game to speak of (especially since they won’t have Dyson for the season) so he ought to be getting more carries than any other back in the league…
The Chargers are undefeated!
The Chargers are undefeated!
(Well, so far anyway.)
