The season is about half over, and there have been a fair share of sleeper teams (Chicago [lucky] and SF, to name a few) and regs (St.Louis, Giants, Baltimore, {Tenessee, where are you?} and Philadelphia.)
So now it’s time to pick your teams. If you wanna go with you hometeam, well, I can’t stop you, but I sure aint gonna pick Detroit.
My predicion for this years Superbowl Champions are:
[ul][li]JetsPhilly[/ul][/li]
McNabb it the quaterback for the 21st century. Is there anything that this man can’t do?
Curtis Martin 983 yards, 10 TD’s and there are still many games to go. IMHO the best active running back (currently) in the game.
Yes. Throw downfield consistently. Good defensive teams simply keep him in front of them. And, unless Duce Staley comes on strong, the offense is not going to sustain the Eagles all the way to the Super Bowl.
The Jets will be exposed. Martin’s an excellent back, but this team is not nearly as talented as 7-3 would indicate. They’ve lived on turnovers so far. We’ll see if they can keep it up. I say no.
My picks: The Rams over the Steelers.
Replay of Super Bowl 14, only the good guys win this time.
I think the Steelers will best the Raiders in the AFC championship in a close struggle.
The Rams will have to get by the Niners or the Packers, most likely. Maybe the Eagles. If the Rams have home field advantage, which it looks like they surely will, they’re not gonna get beat in the dome at home.
We’ll see. It’s been a fun season so far, though. Except if your a Lions fan.
Hah! Montfort neither of those teams will play in this years Superbowl. Especially not the friggin Raiders. I have nothing against Philly other than they won’t get past any of the NFC teams in the playoffs.
boring one-sided rout. it doesn’t matter who is playing, they all are pretty much the same. if all the teams in the NFL had plain white uniforms, you couldn’t tell them apart.
the commercials will be bombastic and overly self-important. expect lots of “feel good” sappy USA sentiment.
the half time show will nausiate you beyond belief. tributes to NYC firemen and police by teeny-bopper pop singers. i don’t want to think about it further.
im going skiing, offroading or motorcycling- all viable options in early january where i live…
The Rams will end up with the best record in the NFC, and will be very difficult to beat at home in the Dome.
And the Super Bowl will be played in SuperDome in New Orleans. Almost another home game for the Rams. Artifical turf and perfect weather conditions, the Rams would be heavily favored.
The Rams defense did get little nicked up against the Pats. I am a little concerned about that.
Personally I’d give my left nut to see a Niners - Raiders Superbowl. But I think that’s next years matchup. But after the Niners performance yesterday, I wouldn’t be surprised to see the NFC Championship game being a shootout between my Niners and the Rams.
NFC:
Bears eliminate the Eagles
Rams beat the Bears [sub]hope I’m wrong[/sub]
AFC:
Jets eek in and lose in the first round to the Ravens
Raiders get revenge on the Ravens
Super Bowl:
Rams win an exciting game against the Raiders.
I think the Steelers, Bucs, 49ers, and Packers make appearances in the playoffs, but don’t get to the championship games. Sadly, I think the Rams are the only team the Bears don’t match up well against and we’d own the balance of the AFC.
St. Louis 28, Pittsburgh 17
I think Miami will win the AFC East (Fielder seems to be improving with every game), but the Fish won’t win the AFC championship.
Oakland will take the AFC West, Pittsburgh will win the AFC Central.
For AFC wild cards, I’ll predict the Patsies and the Ravens. The Jets have a good record, but they also have Testaverde at the helm.
I’m going with the Steelers as AFC champs because of their D
From what I’ve seen the 49ers are the only team that has a chance of stopping the Rams. Green Bay is too inconsistent and I think Bears will find they have a little ways to go before they can run with the big dogs.
St Louis will win the NFC West and Green Bay will take the NFC Central. Chicago and San Francisco will be the wild cards.
I don’t care who wins the kennel called the NFC East. Tho’ I must admit I’m beginning to think the Deadskins will pull out the NFC East championshp. And, King Hobo, the Giants aren’t sleepers, they’re comatose.
Since when are the Eagles regs? Or the Ravens for that matter?
Put together a scoring drive against the Redskins?
I want the Redskins to pull it out, but I’m not sure they can. Rams will get beat by good coaching, so I’m going to go with Niners/Raiders in a local brawl.
After watching the Rams tonight I’m sure the Steelers could beat them. I’m leaning towards the Steelers and Bears for the Super Bowl, with the Steelers winning in a low-scoring game.
