NFL Predictions - Week Four

Well, I took it on the chin last week going only 8-6. 33-11 for the year is still tied with the best prognosticator at the Sporting News though, so I’ll keep trying. Once again, feel free to use these predictions for all your betting needs - but be warned, based on the trend that seems to be developing only 5 of the predictions will be right!!!

Anyway, here goes:

Rams 35 at Falcons 27 (That Ram defense is going to cost them sooner or later, but I don’t see it happening in a dome.)

Lions 16 at Bears 17 (Out on a limb here, I just think the Bears are due and the home team usually wins in this rivalry. Bears’ Engram is out for the year - make fantasy changes.)

49ers 31 at Cowboys 24 (No defense at all in this game. I can’t understand the decision to bench Cunningham, if he were starting I’d go the other way.)

Patriots 13 at Dolphins 23 (Not that I have a lot of faith in the Dolphins offense, but hey, it’s the Patsies.)

Titans 17 at Steelers 0 (That’s right, I even less faith in the Steeler offense. Titans’ Dyson is out for the year, make fantasy changes.)

Bengals 3 at Ravens 24 (Game three in the Bruce Coslet farewell tour.)

Packers 24 at Cardinals 26 (I know, I said for two weeks now that this would be the Packs first win, but hey, they went and won last week. Add the Arizona heat and pickle juice or no pickle juice they’re going to blow it in the fourth quarter.)

Chiefs 23 at Broncos 19 (Either Greise sits, or he plays with a bum throwing shoulder - I don’t like the Broncos chances under either scenario.)

Browns 17 at Raiders 30 (The Browns are getting better, but the Raiders should handle them at home.)

Seahawks 17 at Chargers 6 (This could really go either way if the Chargers defense steps up and makes some plays, obviously their offense won’t.)

Jets 10 at Bucaneers 21 (The Bucs may be the best in the land and no one is going to push them around in their own backyard.)

Redskins 17 at Giants 30 (All that money and the ‘skins are having an early season fade. Why am I smiling? p.s. Redskins’ kicker Conway was waived - make fantasy football adjustments.)

Jaguars 24 at Colts 27 (OT) (Any bets on how many plays before Fred Taylor gets hurt again?)

Hopefully I’ll do a little better than last week! All comments are welcome!

What about the Eagles at Saints?

I absolutely guarantee that the Vikings won’t lose this weekend, and I’ll bet my house on it.

Like the Steelers didn’t lose in week 2?

Oh yeah, I’m supposed to do all the games!! (Actually when I was typing this one scared me at first glance so I skipped it and apparently forgot to get back to it…sorry.)

Eagles 23 Saints 17 (The Saints have the #1 overall defense in the league. How do they explain giving up 27 points to the inept offense of San Diego? Eagles go back to being the Iggles if they lose.)

Since you’re not picking on the Niners I should stay out of this, but being a football fan and contrary to boot. Im going to disagree with your call on the Rams and Falcons. I think Atlanta’s defense is up to the challenge, I also think they’ll be able to control the ball via Jamal Anderson. That doesn’t even take into account that they’re home. Nope Dirty birds all the way!

And your call on the Chiefs and Broncos. This is just me being contrary and giving the home team extra credit.

Rysdad…

Are you freaking crazy. The Vikings have a reputation for choking that just may be big enough for them to be the first team to post a loss on their bye week.

Oh and Gazoo… kiss my Fred Taylor starting ass!!

Fred Taylor for 3 TD’s and 127 yds. No injury.

:stuck_out_tongue:

Umm, this is the same defense that gave up 28 points to the Niners and 42 to the Broncos. Sorry, I don’t see it.

This one could go either way, but I always question the “game time” decison when it comes to a QB. IMHO you need to make a decision right away and start giving the back-up the snaps. It should be one of the best games to watch this week.

Me, crazy?

I’m considering benching Taylor and starting Dorothy Levens against the Cards this weekend.

…well, at least somebody thinks that the Bears can score.

“knock-knock”
“who’s there?”
“Owen”
“Owen who?”
“Owen three”

The Bears coudln’t score if they paid the money upfront at the Mustang Ranch.

Sincerely,
a Bears fan

Long live Virginia and Ed McCaskey, who don’t derseve to see what Michael McCaskey did to their team. I hope they sent him to his room, the twit. His grandfather would have given him a good cuff to the back of the head.

Q: how do you keep bears out of your front lawn?
A: install goalposts.

Another Bears fan.

The Dorsal Fin is a hell of a lot better than Ahman Green. Even though we still looked pathetic the running game looked better. Don’t sell Fred down the river just yet.

Want to bet the Pack splits with the Queens? It always seems in this rivalry that no matter how good or how bad one of the teams is they split the season series. That’s what a rivalry is all about. Pass that damn stadium referendum!!! The San Antonio Vikings would be no fun!!

I would also like to express my condolences to any and all Bengals Fans. Hopefully Gazoo is right about this prediction even if he is wrong the rest of the year. Getting rid of Coslet would be the best thing that ever happened to you.

That guy is so bad he wouldn’t get another job if he was an NBA coach.

Just some quick news, from what I’ve read it’s looking like Terrell Davis and Steve McNair will sit this week out, and Mike Anderson and Neil O’Donnell will take their spots, respectively.

This doesn’t really change any of my picks, just thought I’d pass it along for everyone’s fantasy football use.

Man, sometimes I’m so accurate I scare myself. Coslet has resigned!!!

I don’t know the Cowboys thrashing was more complete than your call  But a wins a win, so why quibble?

Oh didn’t the Cards lose?

My condolences by the way to you poor Cincinattians

They didn’t lose. They were steamrolled by the awesome juggernaut that is the resurgent Packer offense.

What, those five field goals? Um…they just didn’t want to run up the score, that’s all. No red zone problem there, nosiree.

I shall never pick against the Pack again. Well not this coming week anyway.

Yeah stuffinb, that was quite a thrashing by your Niners. What the hell is up with Owens though? I can’t believe they didn’t flag him the first time he pulled that little stunt (and after they allowed him and Emmitt to do it, I can’t believe they did flag him the second time!).

How about that gutsy Chiefs pick. I just wish I would have had the guts to predict a Jets win. Oh well.
