NFL Week 10

Do you really think the refs had an agenda here? There were questionable calls in both directions during the game but that happens in every game. The refs didn’t decide the outcome here.

I’m a Gints fan, and I agree with this statement. The Gints were one running play, even if it went for zero yards, from winning. Would I have preferred the TD? Of course! But run it in and make NE go the length of the field.

Manning has a torn plantar fascia. He had the injury before the game and they let him start anyway probably just to get the passing record. He’s currently tied with Favre for all time wins, so maybe he’ll limp in to play one snap in another game.

Next year Favre is going to unretire to play one game and throw a pass to take back the record.

Of course, by then Peyton will have taken Favre’s interceptions record away from him, too…

Man, somebody really needs to find DirecTV Peyton Manning and get rid of this other dude. He was historically awful this weekend, plantar fasciitis or not (Eli played through the same injury some years ago and was bad but nowhere close to this bad).

In related news, what the fuck happened to Nick Foles? He has been completely ineffective in every game this year. I knew it would be bad, given the Rams’ offensive line, but you’d think he could at least churn out 250 yards a game in today’s NFL.

Manning just needs 22 more games like yesterday to do it, too! (He’s currently 85 interceptions behind Favre, 336-251.)

Not trying to defend Peyton’s performance this weekend but Eli had plantar fasciitis whch is an inflamed tendon; Peyton has a torn plantar fascia, a much bigger deal.

The refs are way too flag happy and it makes it hard for me to watch the game.

Ted Ginn Jr. Philly Brown. Jerricho Cotchery. Devin Funchess. Your 2015 Panthers receivers! Seriously, the stats you mention are accurate. Newton will never be near the top of the charts for completion percentage. He has, without a doubt though, taken a big step forward this year. He presents match up problems for teams that open up their offense and allow them to have some success with mediocre talent… MVP? Maybe not over Brady or Dalton at this point, but I don’t think it’s crazy to say he’s in the discussion.

But that’s not what you said before. You complained that the refs shifted the game to favore the Pats.

NE - 7 penalties for 93 yards
NYG - 8 penalties for 49 yards

Now, not all penalties are equal, and keeping a drive alive is a lot more important than a meaningless holding call on a stalled drive, but I’m just not seeing your original point. Now I don’t have a problem arguing that there are too many flags in a game, but the NFL wants that, not the refs. And this game didn’t really have too many penalties.

When the Giants went up 20-10 I was saying…"it would be nice if they can tack on another TD to make it 27-10 and then right after I said that the pats had a 83 yd punt return:smack: Why do you think the NFL wants a lot of flags?

What does that have to do with the refs?

Because the flags on the giants previous possession is what caused them to punt and then the Pats took it 82 yds. Flags will kill momentum every time

There is no such thing as momentum in football.

No such thing? I saw it all day yesterday. In the eagles game they were up 16-3 and once the Dolphins got a blocked punt that changed the momentum of the game and the eagles only scored 3 more pts to lose 20-19

Had no idea this game for the Bengals vs the Texans would be a trap game:smack:

Penalties will do that. No need to blame the refs, it was the Giants that committed them.

Jameis quietly has the second best passer rating of all time for a rookie through eight games.

Hope he can have another productive game and beat the eagles next sunday

How did the dolphins block the punt if they didn’t have momentum?
