ZEKE WATCH
He’s suspended
Bears are favored (slightly) over the Packers for the first time since the Bush administration.
And at home? I’d take the Bears at a TD favorite over the current dumpster fire of a team on the field right now. I mean, the Bears still suck, but shit…
The Bears have a good RB and a rookie QB looking to prove himself. They do still suck overall, but they can be fun to watch too.
Rotoworld is saying the Browns made an offer for Terelle Pryor prior to the trading deadline. Why would Washington not take that, even if it was a 7th round pick? He’s a 1 year rental for them, they don’t use him at all, he’s demoted as a starter, and they’re going to lose him at the end of the year. Take anything for him. Weird.
Odd story about Elliott leaving the country to ‘train and refocus’
It’ll be interesting to see where he’s going and what country he thinks is better for training for American football than the United States. I"m not sure he will endear himself to his teammates if he’s on a Caribbean island while they’re trying to win games without him and get into the playoffs.
I think the Browns are deliberately tanking this year. They just ran a run play from the 4 yard line with 19 seconds on the clock. No timeouts.
They almost recovered and got another snap but one of the lions players smothered Kizer for 15 seconds after the play. Blatant delay of game. Probably the most blatant I’ve ever seen. No call.
Very bizarre sequence of events.
Ok, that was just, um. The Vikings score a ssort TD, 4 Players get on their hands and knees in the endzone and the receiver does a leapfrog over them. That seemed a bit like excessive celebration that probably should have drawn an unsportsmanlike flag.
Have you not been noticing the multitude of fun group celebrations, and the Pepsi ad campaign saying celebration rules have been relaxed?
Has Drew Brees always thrown like a shot putter? His form looks terrible now.
And good lord the Bills are bad.
Same old Chargers. Good to know some things never change, I guess.
It sure is fun watching the Cowboys get a good, old fashioned butt whipping. I’d almost rather see that than a Redskins win.
How can you tell?
0-9. From disappointment to tragedy to farce. At this point, a win would be anti-climactic.

Shodan
Well, the Browns unsurprisingly lose again. But at least they looked like a competent NFL team for a majority of the game. Yes, the QB sneak to end the first half was a real head scratcher. And I do believe some players have thrown in the towel. But not Kizer, Crow, Duke Johnson or, thankfully, the O line. I don’t think they’ll finish 0-16. They’ve got some winnable games left (Bengals, Chargers, Packers, Bears, Ravens). Hell, they might even win 2.
I have met Ezekiel Elliot and I know people who are acquainted with him. He is…a character.
It’s kinda fun to watch Jerry Jones’ latest hissy fits. Goodell is fine … until he suspends an important Cowboy player. Domestic violence is bad and should result in a 6 game suspension … unless it’s a Cowboy’s player. Not like it’s a revelation or anything, but he’s a complete and utter ass. I’m kinda hoping he tears the NFL apart with his threatened lawsuit and douchebag character. This could be kinda fun.
If you follow the Browns, you really need to read Joe Posnanski’s weeklyBrown’s diary.
I read it because I think he is possibly the best sports writer in the country, and got hooked on him when he was with the KC Star.
In the performance numbers I have been keeping, the Browns are at the bottom, but right next to them are the Broncos, who have really been stinking up the joint. The Browns’ offensive productivity (yds/pt) is significantly better than Denver’s, but my numbers are a bit distorted because Denver put up a goose-egg (against the Chargers, FFS) while Cleveland has yet to be shut out.
Yes, the Browns are the best 0-9 team in the NFL.

Shodan
the Browns are now the only 0-9 team in the league
Thank you, that was a very enjoyable read.
