Teams in bold in must-win mode (IMO) What can be clinched?

Baltimore clinches a berth with: win+losses by PIT and CIN

SF clinches a berth with: win+loses by ALL the teams in bold above.

Is there a line on the NE & Houston MondayNightFootball game yet (can’t check from work)?

The Browns will win their 3rd straight game, I just hope it’s not enough to keep Shurmur’s job.

I don’t see Washington as having a must win this week. Their final three are very winnable and the Giants have a tough remaining schedule.

If they can win out and hit 8-8, I’d be ok with Shurmur keeping his job. I mean, he’d have to be doing something right. Pretty unlikely. Not sure how I’d feel about 7-9, guess it depends on how it went down.

I’d like to retain the whole defensive staff.

That Houston/NE game should be great. Both have clinched their divisions, but both will be fighting for seeding order. The Texans have the inside track to a first-round bye but NE needs to keep the pressure on Baltimore and Denver.

The current spread for MNF is currently New England -4.

The Texans haven’t clinched their division, by the way. They can’t guarantee it even with a win over NE this Monday, because Indy is only 3 games back and they haven’t played head to head yet.

To clinch their division this week, Houston needs to win and have Indy lose (to Tennessee, which is unlikely).

To clinch a first round bye, one of Denver and Baltimore needs to lose in addition to the Houston win and Indy loss.

To clinch home field advantage, Houston needs to win and Indy, Denver, and Baltimore all have to lose.

I just need the Bengals to win another game, this one against Dallas, who’s also fighting for their playoff lives. Big game for both teams.

Gangster-IMO 9-7 won’t get it done. (in this NFC I could be proven wrong)

It’s unlikely the Giants will go 3-1 with their schedule and 4-0 is unlikely for Washington or Dallas. If Washington loses a game, this is the one they can lose.

You’re right of course, they’ve only clinched a playoff spot. I knew that but had a brain fart. Still looking forward to the game.

Also wondering which Tennessee team will show up at Indy. I was at the Titans-Colts game a few weeks ago that went to OT, so I know that Tenn can hang with Indy. But this game is in Indy, so I don’t expect it to be as close.

I hope Tennessee can pull one out on the Colts. I need them and the Steelers to lose as much as possible!

Yeah, I’m hoping Jake Locker goes superman for this one game and Tom Brady deflate a bit after that monster 6 game win streak. I’d rather have Houston lock up home field advantage early and let their players recover a bit. That team is beat to hell and back.

Cowboys remaining Schedule
@Cincinnati
Pittsburgh
New Orleans
@Washington

Giants remaining schedule
New Orleans
@ Atlanta
@ Baltimore
Philadelpia

Redskins Remaining Schedule
Baltimore
@ Cleveland
@ Philadelphia
Dallas

IMO, Washington has the easiest of the three schedules, but nothing dramatic. Still it is easy to see potentially 2 or more losses for the Giants and the Redskins have the better division record (right now). So clearly this is not a must-win for the Skins or the Cowboys this week.

Good lord I don’t get to watch the Raiders but very rarely, but are their receivers always this bad? Given just what I’ve seen tonight, this could easily be the worst group in the league. Even the Chiefs have Dwayne Bowe. Heyward-Bey has wheels, but he can’t catch for shit.

Poor widdle Carson Palmer getting his wish. Thanks for the gift that keeps giving Raiders!

Were I a conspiracy minded person, I just may conclude his current employment with the Bengals was the result of his disastrous (for the Raiders) decision to massively overpay for Carson Palmer.

Thanks for posting the schedule, etv78.

Here are the lines:

@Washington -2.5 Baltimore
@Cleveland -6.5 Kansas City
@Pittsburgh -7.5 San Diego
@Indianapolis -5.5 Tennessee
NY Jets -2.5 @Jacksonville
Chicago -3 @Minnesota
Atlanta -3.5 @Carolina
@Tampa Bay -7.5 Philadelphia
@Buffalo -3 St. Louis
@Cincinnati -3 Dallas

Afternoon games
@ San Francisco -10 Miami
@NY Giants -5 New Orleans
@Seattle -10 Arizona

Sunday Night
@Green Bay -6.5 Detroit

Monday Night
@New England -3.5 Houston
Anyone know why there’s practically no afternoon games this week?

It’s about normal. There were 4 last week, but you have to go back to week 6 to see 4 afternoon games again.

The networks only get to broadcast 8 doubleheaders in the regular season, so there generally aren’t a lot of late games, anyway.
