Maybe time for the Giants to find a new punter. Dodge has been a disaster all year. That was just preposterous — I’m thinking target fixation, like how sometimes people are driving and they think “Don’t hit that tree, don’t hit that tree, don’t hit that tree,” and then they hit the tree because it’s the only thing in their consciousness.
I don’t know about that. The Bengals d-line is much improved now that the new guys like Carlos Dunlap are playing (2 sacks, 4 total for the game) and the worthless starters are out (Odom, Geathers) with injuries. Also, they did a good job containing Hillis and Cribbs (longest return, 19 yards) despite the fact that they are playing a lot of scrubs on ST due to injuries.
Finally, with TO leaving the game early with an injury, the Bengals finally (FINALLY!) got back to what made them successful last season: running the goddamn football with Benson, who mauled you guys for 150 yards on 31 carries and a score. TO had a monster game against you guys last time and we lost. TO didn’t play hardly at all in this one and we won. I don’t think its a coincidence.
Palmer has been forcing the ball to TO waaaay too much this season, resulting in many of his INT’s.
Alas, my Steelers were outplayed. It did look like we had a chance, even up until the end, but we just couldn’t pull it off. Steelers and Baltimore are now tied in the division, but if I heard correctly, we still somehow have first place.
It’s because the Steelers have a better record in the AFC North (1 loss, compared to 2 losses for the Ravens).
Baltimore can still win the division, but it’s more likely right now that the Steelers win and the Ravens get the Wild Card. Still, nice to see Pittsburgh lose at home today, even though seeing Ryan and the Jets win isn’t fun.
That said, it’s not the end of the world – they’ll still make the playoffs, and hopefully they’ll get a chance to smack the smug out of the Scumbirds in January.
Ironically, that win helped me immensely in my pool, as it gave a loss to my biggest divisional rival (and set up a pivotal Week 17 match between the two of us).
Finally, there is one nice thing that comes out of Vick’s success – it was just a few short months ago that so many Eagles fans screamed and wailed about the horror of their team now having such a terrible person as their backup QB. Now they’re sporting his jersey and chanting “MVP”. Thanks for showing your hypocritical douche colors, folks – we all knew you had it in you.
I was at the game. Absolutely amazing. Stunning. The Giants fans were dancing in the stands (literally, to “Insane in the Membrane”), chanting “Fuck the Eagles!” mockingly, when they went up 31 - 10. And then…well, the Giants fans weren’t quite so cocky 8 minutes later.
All of us wearing green were high-fiving, doing our own happy dance after the game. That’s why I never leave games, regardless of the score. You might miss one of the greatest 4th quarter comebacks ever…
E - A - G - L - E - S, Eagles!!! Fly, Eagles, fly!..
