NFL Week 15

Someone give Dan Connelly some carries in the backfield, he’s a natural.

Connelly was just in as a fullback, should have handed off to him.

Apparently he just set an NFL record.

You know your special teams need some work if Dan Connelly is lumbering almost all the way to the house against you.

As much as I hate the Packers, I admit they’re showing up better than I (or anyone else) thought they would. I don’t think it’s going to matter in the second half. This is Belichick and Brady we’re talking about. They’ll flip the switch here in a minute, but it’s not going to be quite the blowout it was supposed to be. It kind of looked like the Pats weren’t really trying very hard in the first half, but I’m sure Belichick will chew some asses in the locker room.

Belichick should start the second half with an onside kick. That’s such a douche move to pull at the start of a game, Belichick should return the favor.

How is it a douche move? It’s a high risk, high reward move, and if you don’t defend against it you deserve to be burned by it.

Douche move? WTF? This is professional fucking football. Onside kicks aren’t even exploiting loopholes.

Your astounding insights into football never ceases to bring a smile to my face.

Incidentally, what record did the kick return break? Yards/lb?

Cripes, I’m torn – my wife is friends with Matt Flynn’s sister, so there’s a little bit of “hey, I’d like to see him do good for her sake”.

But on the other hand, 1) Fuck the Packers simply because they’re the Packers, and 2) Fuck the Packers because them losing will help the Giants.

A douche move? It’s within the rules; it’s a fairly commonly-used move; and it worked. Not sure what could possibly be douchey about it.

Kinda. Longest kick return by an offensive lineman. It was 71 yards, he’s 320 pounds, so .22 yards/lb.

I noticed that the Packers kicked away from Dan Connelly on that one.

Now that’s the kind of meaningful statistical analysis that the SDMB is known for!

On a side note, if the Packers manage to beat the Patsies, I will eat my own poop.

I feel weird rooting for the Patriots. I don’t hate them or anything, but they’re one of those teams that it feels unnecessary to root for.

What a shitty way to end that. Seriously, you aren’t prepared for that possibility?

Maybe he wasn’t ready for Bellichick jamming his headset radio :stuck_out_tongue:

The Packers lose. Thuhuhuhuhuhuhu Packers lose!

They should have lost by a lot more, but the Pats didn’t bother to give a fuck until the last 5 minutes or so.

Congrats to the Bears on winning the division, and that will conclude any playoff hopes for the Packers,

I feel bad for the kid. First start in the NFL, and he has to play the Patsies at their home field. He makes a couple stupid throws, but plays a pretty good game overall. And then blows in on a clock management issue at the end. It’s heartbreaking.

Yeah, I’m crying my eyes out.

In Belichick’s post-game press conference, he was talking like it was a loss. He was saying he should have had his team better prepared, and that he will definitely do so next week. He seemed very unhappy. Someone should tell him he won.

Well, good effort, Flynn. Now kindly play worse next week (same goes for Rodgers if he starts).
