NFL Week 15

Lost in all of this love him/hate him over Favre - the Bears are 2010 NFC North Champions, and could well be looking at a bye week. Bear Down, baby!

Congrats to the Bears. Halfway through the season, they really looked like they were playing way over their heads. In recent weeks, they have become a lot more solid.

They deserve the division. I congratulate the Bears again and hope they represent the Norris well in the playoffs.

Well said

I was going to ask you if you really wanted a divisional rival to be successful in the playoffs, but instead I made a poll about it.

That’s a pleasant fiction.

Do we want to count your never-ending bashing of his playing ability as badmouthing? ([post=8092310]Example[/post]) Or was this fiction of yours just about never insulting him personally?

Also, does attacking his “fucking skank bag wife” count?

Jesus, Dio. What’s with the Favre hate? What do you have against greatness? I merely said the guy should retire (and you concurred) and that got me the hater tag from you.

They played a great game against the Eagles. But I would never call the ass whuppin’ they took from the Patriots “solid”. Beating the Lions with Stanton and the Vikings with Webb or Miami with Thigpen, however, does not impress me all that much.

The Eagle game showed they CAN play well enough to win against good teams, but the Patriots game showed they can also suck rocks. It will be interesting to see which team shows up against the Jets and Packers.

It retired about a decade ago and Favre kept playing.

In fairness to Dio, while it’s really easy to find examples of him ripping Favre (choker, “done”), I also found this post from '04: “The thing is, I don’t feel animosity to Favre. The Packers, yes, but not Favre personally. If you’re a football fan you have to appreciate Brett Favre. You couldn’t ask for a better leader on the field, no one has more heart, he’s got one of the all time great cannons and his streak is incredible. I would rank him as one of the top 5 QB’s of all time and I hate that he plays for the Packers. I also agree that he doesn’t seem like an asshole and doesn’t project a huge ego.” There was also this post, in which, once Favre was no longer a Packer, **Dio **was able to kinda, sort of apologize for calling him a choker.

Note to kickers/punters: The rule is “Don’t Kick to Hester”. How hard is that to remember? It is not that many syllables and only slightly less well known than “Don’t start a land war in Asia”.

I said a lot of good things about favre. I can find the posts.

No.

That’s the problem with using all-encompassing words. All someone needs is one single example to the contrary and you’re proven wrong.

I never said you didn’t. I was just pointing out that you lied when you said you never badmouthed him.

I could see him fending off would-be tacklers melee-style with that.

I don’t hate Favre. I used to admire him. Much less so now. I hope he retires for good this year.

Whew, thank goodness nobody of any consequence got hurt.

The best you could do was find one mild example of smack talk. Congratulations.
Airman’s assertion that I “never recognized” any of Favre’s greatness with the Packers and that I “changed my stripes” after he became a Viking is false. I always recognized Favre’s greatness and said so.

No, you said you never badmouthed him. That’s a very different thing.

You found one mild instance of smack talk. Congratulations. Are you going to call out Airman for making a false accusation?
