NFL WEEK 16 Tons, what do you get.

Haskins injured for the Redskins, he’ll be on the sideline the rest of the game. Both the ‘Skins and the Giants look like they forgot how to play defense.

You mean the team that’s given up almost 25 points per game this season, and the team that’s given up just over 27 points per game? I’m not sure today is anything new for either of them.

It would be nice if the Seahawks acted like they have to win this game.

Except that they don’t. Next week’s game against the 49ers is the only one that really matters at this point.

For NFC West yes. For NFC home field every game counts since the Saints have the tie break.

The Seahawks have a REALLY TOUGH GAME coming up in 7 days and the Cardinals have given them fits for YEARS in Seattle. I knew this game wasn’t going to be easy. In fact I labeled it as a “trap” game for the 'hawks beforehand.

Honestly I think that’s it for Seattle’s season, with all these injuries. They are literally down to one RB (a rookie) with their top 3 out. I would not be shocked if that RB gets knocked out the game.

That’s also not counting that almost half of their starters are in and out on defense, just when the defense started to get good.

Without a run game they may end this season 11-5, and be one and done in the wild card game. I think most teams would be cooked with this many injuries.

I see the Seahawks winning one playoff game, at most, this year, before bowing out.

Down 2 scores going into the 4th quarter. Its Mitch Trubisky’s time to shine … or at least pad some stats.

One of four games down, three to go. Green Bay gets their first win in the USBank, Seattle repeats their victory over San Francisco, this time in the Link, and Green Bay does Green Bay things in Ford Stadium as well.

Or Green Bay loses tomorrow night (FIE!), the Vikings and Packers BOTH win next week, and San Francisco loses at Seattle - thus going from the first seed to begin the final weekend to the sixth at the end.

At which point they go to Green Bay. I changed my mind. I don’t like this timeline.

Yeah, the 'hawks are being hit by the injury bug really hard at the wrong time. Chris Egan on KING 5 last night brought up the idea of the 'hawks LOSING to San Francisco next Sunday and ending up as the #5 seed in the playoffs and then having to travel to Philly for the playoffs. A rematch from the regular season between an uninspiring team and a really badly banged up one. How’s THAT sound?

The Seahawks are supposedly talking with Marshawn Lynch today, about having him come out of retirement (thoughthis article on ESPN notes that it’s not entirely clear if Lynch has ever formally filed a retirement with the league). They’re also apparently talking with former RB Robert Turbin.

I didn’t even realize that for most of the game, Seattle had 3 backups on the offensive line. Their left tackle, Duane Brown (a multiple Pro Bowl veteran and that line’s rock) was out and now he’s having surgery on his knee so he may not be back until next year.

Mike Iupati, the left guard, he went out with a stinger though he was back in for a while. I don’t know his long term situation.

Joey Hunt of course is in at center for Justin Britt, the leader who basically turned the OL from awful to okay (and sometimes good). That happened a while back and Hunt has filled in pretty well, though he is small and gets overpowered at times by big rushers.

The entire left side was backups. No wonder Russell didn’t have time to throw. Arizona’s pass rush had a field day. The Seahawks are broken; no running backs, no offensive line, half a defense (oh and apparently Al Woods, a really good D lineman is suspended).

If they beat SF it would be a miracle. I don’t know if they could beat anyone right now. When Kyler Murray left the game with an injury, Arizona was forced to play the backup to a rookie QB, who was a backup that used to be on Seattle and they let him walk. And that guy torched them with his feet and arm. If they played all year this banged up they’d probably have first pick in next year’s draft.

The encouraging thing though is that Seattle is really talented and plays well as a team. When healthy I think they are one of if not the best team in the NFL. They have playmakers in every phase of the game and the best QB in the league. (Jackson was amazing but his play style and success is probably not sustainable; running QBs get banged up and he won’t have the surprise factor anymore.) I’m excited to see how Seattle can build on what they’ve done if they can stay healthy.

Rodgers turns the ball over 3 times, but the Packers are only down a point at half. It’s great, and new, to have a defense this year.

And a running game.

How can Cousins be that bad on MNF?

Looking at the Week 17 schedule, I see that the NFL thoroughly screwed the Steelers (after the team screwed itself several times this year). If the Chiefs win their 1pm game. Houston will have no incentive to beat Tennessee at 4:30. Both the Steelers and Titans games should be moved to 1pm. Isn’t what the flex schedule is for?

No, it’s for TV ratings.

I take back all I said. Beast Mode is back so say hello to your new Super Bowl Champion Seattle Seahawks!
