NFL Week 16

Great weekend ahead.

Baltimore-Dallas tonight: This is a tough one to call, but I’m rooting for Baltimore. As a Giants/Panthers fan, Dallas scares the hell out of me in the playoffs.

Pittsburgh-Tennessee: I think the Steelers win this one. The Titans are banged up and missing some key defensive players.

Giants-Panthers: This one is hard for me. I admit to being a sports polygamist. Lifelong Giants fan who moved to Charlotte 4 years ago and became a Panthers fan. The Giants are in, one way or the other, and if the Panthers win I have playoff tickets waiting for me… so this week… Go Panthers! I think it’ll be a very good, close game. If Jacobs is healthy it’s a toss-up. I think the Panthers have more offensive weapons right now, and if they can hold onto the ball they should win.

Baltimore-Dallas - is there any way for both of them to lose? OK, I am probably rooting for Baltimore too, since I cannot stand Dallas.

The Chargers- because for all the love and effort I expend towards them- continue to hate me back for it- will somehow find a way to keep hope alive with a win against Tampa. The question is if the Bills will somehow find a way to win against what is probably a motivated Bronco’s squad to continue my torture for another week. Of course, sh ould it come to that- I’ll have actual legitimate hope. The Bronco’s will not be wanting it to come down to a showdown against the REVENGE FOR THE HOCULI CALL led- Chargers in San Diego. We’re still a pretty good team… when we want to be so… See New England game.

The Cardinals need to beat New England on Sunday. We suck on the east coast and we’re probably going to end up playing either Carolina or the Giants in the second round of the playoffs.

Don’t worry, Tony Romo is still the QB.

From your lips to The Whatever’s ears. I’m excited and nervous about the game, especially since I rarely get to see the Panthers play (other games always preempt it out here). But, I’ve described the Panthers before as “the Stephen King of football.” They often start out strong, have great elements, begin to coalesce and come together as a good unit…and then screw it all up at the end.

BTW, does NFL Network have an HD broadcast? I haven’t found one, but I can’t imagine only getting a regular broadcast of their beloved Cowboys.

NFL Network does have an HD broadcast. I’ve never seen it, despite having a HDTV, because I didn’t subscribe to the HD package for the dish and by the time I get the cable in the new place hooked up it will be the postseason. I think the guys at AVS Forum say that it looks pretty good.

Yes, its HD quality is as sweet as any other I’ve seen.

Dallas - Baltimore should be just as good as expected. Both teams are playing so much better now than earlier in the season and they match up well. As mentioned, much will hinge on which Romo shows up.

Our Texans confirmed the chinks in Titan armor last week. Pittsburgh, but a close one because Collins will play better.

As much as I respect the Giants w/ Jacobs, the Panthers are rolling and I think that’ll continue.

We’re travelling all day Sunday. Thank goodness for NFL RePLAY.

It was nice to put paid to the myth of Dallas supremacy in their building. So sorry we sent you out with a loss girls, boo hoo, I’m crying.
Now all that’s left is to beat the Jags and get into the playoffs where we can smoke the Broncos or the Jets and get back to Shitsburgh. Pissburgh is better than us, they’ve proved it twice this season. They have the absolute lock on the bragging rights, as I’m sure people like Doors and his ilk will be quick to come in here and say. They are the shit, the king, the unquestioned rulers of the AFC North and probably the AFC as a whole. No question, they’re the best.
But I bet they don’t want to see us again, and I don’t blame them. We’re coming. Gird your Stiller loins, good lord willing and the creeks don’t rise, the Ravens are coming. Try not to be too afraid, it will be an epic game for the title.
And you’ll lose.

Sorry.

Yeah, me too. It breaks my heart that they won’t make the playoffs, they who were all but certain to make it. Still, the only bad thing about that game is that nobody nuked it.

And then you wake up and realize that it was all a bad dream, Pittsburgh owns the Ratbirds.

Agreed on all counts, The Tof. What’s going to suck is if we win…and so does Denver. If we’re going to get knocked out if it, I want it to at least be our fault. Okay, so there were any number of games we could’ve won if we’d bothered to show up in the first 55 minutes of play, but if we’d taken the Hochuli Bowl we’d at worst be fighting the Broncs for the playoffs next Sunday.

That said, wouldn’t it rock if we did go into the postseason 8-and-8 and managed to take the whole thing? Keep the dream alive…'til it’s dead, at any rate.

We’re 2-3 weeks away from determining if Shitsburgh actually owns the Ratbirds. So far, y’all do, no denying that. But it ain’t over yet. Stay tuned. Bravado aside, do you really want to face us on a Super Bowl run? I wouldn’t.
GO RAVENS!

Yeah, I would. You guys are good, but as you’ve said, we are better. We beat you in Pittsburgh, we beat you in Baltimore, and if need be we’ll beat you again. All told I’d rather face Baltimore and their rookie qb in the playoffs than Indy and Manning. Flacco looks like he will probably be a good qb in time, but that lack of playoff experience has got to scare you as a Baltimore fan.

BTW, this is all assuming Baltimore even makes the playoffs

Wow, what a great game. Close until the end. Today should have some interesting games as well.

LOL at Cleveland’s ineptitude, which is only marginally worse than Cincinnati’s.

It’s the battle of the crappy backup QB’s!!!

Arizona is overrated. They can’t beat anybody good.

Actually, I don’t the Arizona is overrated. They are the best team in the weak NFC West. The Cardinals have one of the best receiving duos in the NFL. I’d say Fitz and Boldin are just a bit above Moss/Welker. The Cards will probably win their home playoff game, but then will get stuck having to go to Carolina or New York.

The Cards just look like they don’t want to be outside in the snow. 2 minute warning and they have around 50 total yards.

Nice to see my Pats winning, but it’s not a very good game, and it’s my only choice here. Buffalo sucks and can’t sell out the stadium, so it’s blacked out.

I’m thinking the Cards will put in Leinart for the second half. That will be interesting. The Cards have to decide what they’ll do next year at QB and this is as good as time as any.

The second half is not starting well for them either. I think we can call this one and look to next week. I don’t know if the Pats are playing well or the Cards are really just not playing at all.
