Embattled former Browns WR Josh Gordon to New England Patriots for a conditional 5th round pick. I still think this will be more of a Michael Floyd situation and won’t amount to much. But I could be wrong. It seems Gordon has more lives than a cat in the league. How many more chances will he get if (read: when) he fucks up yet again?
The Pats had to release former Browns WR Corey Coleman to make room for former Browns WR Josh Gordon.
The kicker situation is weird. Zane Gonzalez was serviceable last year, but apparently now he sucks. Hard to believe this Greg Joseph was the best available. Ah well.
It is becoming increasingly clear that Russel Wilson lucked into a great situation as a rookie, but just isn’t a very good QB. Which I feel now highly smug about, for having mocked Carrol for drafting him back in the day.
So what is basically a 2 year non-winning streak could be over with a well-earned win over New Orleans except, of course, for historically bad kicking. 4 miss kicks, including 2 PATs, and given that the game went to overtime, every single point was relevant. Sure, sometimes you get a flukey day and lose a game you really deserve to win - so be it. But to do that after the end of a 20 game losing streak is just disproportionately horrible.
I’m trying not to talk about Josh Gordon until I can seek professional help for this personal crisis.
It’s like watching the 2010 Bears, where a stellar defense comes in to save a stagnant offense from the vagaries of the play of a QB that the Bears horribly overpaid for.
I’d call it a co-dependent relationship, but I don’t think Josh Gordon gives a shit about you. So lets call it a PTSDbased-uni-dependent relationship.
Josh Gordon loves me.
You’re alcohol and a sense of entitlement?
By the numbers you are dead, dead wrong. He’s one of the best QBs in the league (he scored over 80% of their points last year) but he’s on a team that has had huge setbacks in personnel thus past year. But you can feel highly smug in your ignorance there if you like.
To back up my words here’s an article from just 9 months ago.
And earlier that year.
Two close losses in games against good teams and now he’s a bad QB?
That’s (arguably) the former roster slot of castoff Browns WR Kenny Britt.
Who else does Cleveland have that Bill might want?
The Bears defense continues to impress with a ferocious pass rush and big plays. The cherry on the sundae was a “Pick-Six” by the defense to secure the game.
Though the offense scored just two TDs despite numerous possessions with excellent field position, they did have a lot of drives with very few “Three and outs” despite a Seattle defense that was pretty darn good itself.
I’m a Hawks fan but I’ll give Chicago their due; they’re good this year. Seattle made some mistakes (having Russell stay in the pocket, only putting in their #1 RB for two snaps) but Chicago was good. Losing to a strong team softens the blow of a loss somewhat. The Bears have a stout group.
I can’t believe they’re letting Tom Brady wear Josh Gordon’s number.
Brady wears 420?
I honestly laughed IRL at that one. ![]()
If things keep up (missed extra points/field goals), Kicker Anonymous will have to rent a bigger hall for future meetings.
