NFL Week 3

I watched a couple quick cutups of last night’s game, and wow was Tua bad. When he came out of college he was supposed to be the intangibles guy who processed fast and had great accuracy. Now he looks like a one read QB who can’t hit the broadside of a barn.

How many concussions ago was that?

At least four.

Tua is the Sunk Cost Fallacy in human form.

(Though I think he’s only a small part of the problem in Miami.)

Bears cornerback Jaylon Johnson winds up on IR with a groin injury, meaning he’s out for at least four more weeks. The injury, which he originally suffered during off-season workouts, had already caused him to miss training camp, the pre-season, and the Bears’ first two games.

In less impactful news. Another awful Poles draft pick.

Are the Panthers better than they were in recent years or are the Falcons this bad?

Texans let Travis Etienne walk into the endzone for a TD. Kinda thought Etienne would have been coached to go down at the 1 to run the clock and win on the FG.

Packers shut out the Browns for 56 1/2 minutes, then give up 13 straight points, and lose, 13-10.

God, I hate the Eagles.

Flacco is apparently still elite, though.

Lafleur should be absolutely embarrassed after that loss. Penalties, iffy playcalling, and Love’s inaccuracy destroyed what should have been a dominant win.

ETA: Hopefully it will be a learning experience for a young team. There will be alot of anger to work off this week in practice.

THREE key field goal blocks in the space of 10 minutes: Browns stuff a likely game winner against the Pack, kick their own 55 yarder to win it.

The Eagles then block one against the Rams (another potential game winner) and run it back (Jordan Davis), THEN the Jets do the same against the Bucs (Will McDonald). In both of the last 2 cases the blocker also scooped it up and ran it in.

Only the Bucs still can come back and win it.

I cannot handle any more wins for the Bucs. That’s three wins in a row on the final play.

Who the hell knows?

Panthers had a chance to beat the Cards last week.
Falcons looked pretty damn good in beating the Vikes last Sunday night.

Then today the Vikes absolutely destroyed the Bengals.

That’s why betting on the NFL is always risky.

Some of us really needed Etienne to score that TD.

Huh, did not see that Packers loss coming.

Anything can happen when you let bad teams hang around. The Browns’ defense is incredible.

I’m not sure the New Orleans Saints are a real NFL football team anymore.

Down 38-3 with a minute left in the first half.

ETA: They managed to get another FG to make it 38-6 at the half.

And Indianapolis is 3-0. I don’t think anyone is more shocked than me.

But if you let Taylor run for 3 scores and 100+ yards, they’re going to be hard to beat.

Eagles were 3.5 point favorites over the Rams today. At one point early in the 3rd, Rams led 26-7. But Philly came back to take a 27-26 lead with 1:48 to play. Rams drove down the field and had a 44 yard field goal attempt to win the game with 3 seconds to play. If you had bet on the Rams to cover, you were feeling pretty good at this point. But the Eagles blocked the FG attempt and returned it for a TD to win 33-26.

A bad beat, as they say.
