Careful now. You’re about to be told all about your latest strawman.
At least the field goal unit didn’t false start.
They’re getting killed up the middle too. That’s why Cutler has to dance around so much, there’s no obvious spot for him to step up to in order to avoid the pressure from the edge.
And the false starts certainly don’t help. Hats off to the home crowd. Cutler can’t do any hard snap counts, and the Lions’ front has been able to anticipate the snap half of the time.
I really wish you would be consistent. Stats like that matter if it’s JAY CUTLER, but don’t if your name is Kyle Orton. You’ll argue to the end that a purely statistical analysis of Cutler v. Orton isn’t compelling, but if Cutler has a high percentage of completions on screens or dumpoffs, then stats matter. When you get around to finding some semblence of objective measure, let me lnow.
I was thinking the same thing. Not sure who’s problem that is though, Lovie or Martz. Probably Lovie, he’s always sucked at game management. Then again I wouldn’t put it past Martz not having a hurry up package installed.
Yes, I never quote statistics like those.
Martz doesn’t need a hurry up package because his passing game is so awesome.
Man, I didn’t realize how much of a hate vacuum Dio was in these topics…
Haha, good point. We’re tearing ourselves apart without having some mutual person that we all agree is ridiculous.
One yard short of an epic garbage time cover. Shit.
I didn’t watch much of the game. What I saw of Cutler reminded me of Archie Manning…basically running for his life on every snap, and still managing to connect given half a chance.
The Lions look real. I have been cautious all season because I have had hopes destroyed for about 50 years. The Bears are playing short a few players, but the Lion line dominated them.
There were a few penalties in this game though. Calvin did not get 2 TDs.
Coming back from 20 or more the last 2 weeks involved plenty of luck. This game did not.
Damn.
The Lions look good.
Cutler is not the Bears’ problem. As noted in a previous post, they just suck. Pure and simple. It’s the owner, stupid.
Eh, the Lions are pretty good but I wouldn’t call it dominating. The Bears were hot garbage with no line and an atrocious secondary. The Lions were just as retarded as the Bears with penalties and they don’t have the excuse of a hostile crowd. Had the Bears managed to not blow the tackles on Best and the Lions had settled for a FG when they got that cheap personal foul on Urlacher it would have been a hell of a lot different. They certainly deserved the win but calling it an outright domination goes too far. Considering how the Bears played they should have won by 25.
It was dominating. The Lions had Cutler under siege all night.
I agree - there is major rot in the Bears organization.
Even Sexy Rexy is looking good after he left them! I don’t know what happened with Orton - must be the neck beard…
I don’t buy the Lions yet, but I’m really, really happy for their success so far. They might have the best bad weather fans in the league, outside of Cleveland obviously. Cleveland fans are unreal.
The owners are completely hands off and let the football people do their job. I have a tough time pinning it on the McCaskeys this time around. It’s all Angelo and Lovie, but mostly Angelo. You can’t keep blowing draft picks and falling asleep during free agency and expect it all to come up roses. There’s something to be said for stability, and Lovie has a magical ability to win the division whenever he’s in a contract year, but it’s probably time to put a fork in Jerry and maybe Lovie too. Of course Phillips and Angelo were hired by the owners, but I’d rather they stick with management too long than have Raiders/Redskins-like instability.
Buncha guys with bags they used to wear on their heads down in New Orleans say wait a damn minute…
