NFL Week 5

Yeesh, can we cool it with the pink shit? IMO the pink equipment looks silly, and the pink first down line is a little distracting, but the pink penalty flags are just idiotic.
The Giants are now leading, against a pretty mediocre Eagles team, and yet I still have almost no hope of victory.

Pass Interference is kind of an arbitrary mess. Some of the PI calls in that game were pretty darn questionable.

The general rule is that any player in the vicinity of a throw pass has the right to go for the catch and no other player can interfere with another player’s attempt to make the catch if it involves contact. You can try to obstruct the other player’s view, deflect the ball or knock the ball out of the other player’s hands as he is catching it. Rather like the soccer rule, that you can “tackle” a player as long as you are going after the ball, not the player. If a pass is touched in flight (“tipped”), PI cannot be called.

Right now, what constitutes PI is up to the zebras, and those calls cannot be red-flag challenged.

Smart man. I hate my Giants. I think I’ll head out to Modell’s and stock up on green jerseys, and use my blue ones for oil rags.

I’m no Giants fan, but the refs should have penalized the Eagles for the blow to the head.

On the other hand, that was one hell of an interception by Brandon Boykin.

The NFL should penalize the Giants for impersonating a NFL team…and it isn’t even a good impersonation.

The Seahawks are breaking my heart! :frowning:

I am confounded as to how Blaine Gabbert remains a starting QB in the NFL.

In the Pick’em league, who picked the Patriots for the “least points” tiebreaker?

Jadeveon Clowney can go get fitted for his Giants Jersey.

Blaine Gabbert and the Jaguars will have a say in that.

With Gabbert’s play, the Jags may be taking Teddy Bridgewater.

I know it’s been said before, but these pink flags have to go.

Yeah. I’m fine with the pink gear, just not on things whose color matters. Like yellow flags.

During the Panthers’ BYE week (after beating the awful Giants) local sports radio was filled with people talking playoffs. They already had four of the next five games marked off as wins. Too funny.

There’s at least one guy on our local radio station that scolds anyone, caller or host, when they start marking off upcoming games as “should win” or “should lose.”

Damn, I’m not a Romo fan, but only because he doesn’t normally play like this. Now I’m wondering… why not?

They darn sure got a game in D tonite.

I haven’t seen too many afternoon games in Jerryworld, but man the lighting in that stadium sucks. There should not be that many patterns of light and shadow.

I’m not sure you can use the letter “D” to describe the game, because neither team is playing it.

They’re making a total mockery of the 56 over/under line.
