NFL Week 6 - Now With Ranting!

First down, obviously.

The sad part about is that when the refs dug down into the pile to see where the ball was, the ref immediately grabbed it and then moved it about a yard ahead to spot it. It was already a pretty terrible overly generous spot. And yet even with that attempt to give the Steelers the first down, it still resulted in what you see in that picture. And yet somehow that was also a first down.

But that’s how it works.

But James Harrison gets held, EVERY SINGLE PLAY of EVERY SINGLE GAME!!

As soon as the network pretty much dropped it at halftime, I knew the refs just plum blew it. Usually if there’s some technical reason why the call is right, the league explains it to the network within a few minutes. But you know, Big Ben is just so big, and tough, he just HAD to have gotten it, right? Why bother looking at the sticks?

You’re right about the spot, too. When I first saw the play it didn’t look like he had it. It wasn’t fourth-and-inches, it was fourth and about a yard.

Epic fucking fail.

Anyone else watching the absolute slaughter that is NE vs. Titans? What the hell happened to them in the off season?

It’s the Houston Oiler helmets, I think. Usually snow bowls are fun, old-fashioned smash mouth football. This is just sad.

I know the snow gives them an advantage, but I do think my Pats have got their mojo back. :D:D:D

21 yard punt, out of bounds - you’d think this game would be boring, but it’s become hilarious at this point.

I know you’re being facetious but nevertheless the refs blowing that call was a travesty just as the non-calls on Harrison are a travesty. They aren’t mutually exclusive and they don’t offset. I don’t want my team to win but getting the benefit of cheap calls just as I don’t want them to lose by being on the wrong side of those cheap calls. Ironically, they nailed Joe Thomas for holding today and he plays cleaner than anyone against him. Against other teams that exact play is going uncalled many times a game.

That was bizarre. I sure don’t understand it. But yeah, without that, the Browns sure would have won.

If not for that blown measurement, the Browns secondary would have covered someone. If not for that call, they would have had a pass rush or a run defense. It was because of that blown call that Anderson went 9/24 for 122 yards.

It’s so unfair how that one call really undid all the other things the Browns achieved today.

Fuck, three-way tie for first in the AFCN, and the Bengalis lost a couple key defensive linemen along the way. Preliminary reports are that Antwan Odom blew his achilles and is done for the year…there goes the Probowl…Peko also lost to injury…

And once again, the Bengals offense despite it’s supposed talent fails to show up. Jesus Christ, can we get a TE to catch a damn ball?

I predict the early entrance of Chase Coffman.

I think you’ll miss Peko more than Odom. Injuries suck but that’s life in the NFL, how teams respond is key.

Brady: 24/28, 345 yards, 5 touchdowns.

At halftime.

In the fucking snow.

Collins is 1/10, 15 yards, 1 int.

And one lost fumble.

sigh
I guess he’s back. just when I thought Drew Brees looked like the most unstoppable force in the league.

No, I’m not. I’m not trying to funny or inappropriate. I am, however, mocking you whiny ass, bitching Steeler fans who cry like little babies, see imaginary holding calls more often than bunnies reproduce, and who think there is some kind of conspiracy of refs against Harrison.

One of us is whining.

This is amazing. When is the record broken for point differential in a game? It’s got to be coming up soon.

Look over there! James Harrison got held again!

Make it 6 TDs.
