NFL Week 6

Why oh why do the Redskins tortue me so? I just dont understand how a team can look so good and so bad in just a short 7 days!!!

I mean, the freakin BROWN’s have the same number of wins we do! Thats right, the Browns! Cleveland Browns, with Derek “who the hell am I” Anderson as their QB!!

The only good thing from this week in the NFL is the Cowboys got beat handily by the Pats. So at least I dont have to listen to the damn Cowboy fans gloat!

If there’s a franchise with a curse on it in football, its gotta be Arizona. After decades of futility and near-misses, you finally think you have a solid team that can compete for a division title, stars at running back and wide receiver, not one but two serivceable QB’s, decent defense, etc. You make it to week 5 at 3-2 and are in a position to go into sole possession of first in your weak division, and are facing a team whose QB for the day is a journeyman who wasn’t even on the team, or any team, five days earlier. Easy win, right? No, your QB goes down early (big surprise, when its without question his show, what happened, Kurt got hurt) and journeyman QB lights you up and you lose by 15. And your journeyman not on your team five days ago throws three picks. Pa-thetic.

Well I’m glad the Cowboys got whipped. I hate TO.

I do want to mention though: TO has been pretty good this year. I don’t recall much about him. Just one or two articles. Since I can be one of his loudest detractors, I think it fair to point out when he does well.

I loved seeing Vinnie win. It just does the old man’s heart good to see someone in his 40s go out and play well.

My Steelers didn’t play so I have nothing to add about them.

The St. Louis Rams have now moved ahead of the 49ers for lowest average points per game on offense!

IIRC, New England and Indianapolis, whom I believe play each other later in the year, are the only remaining undefeated teams. St. Louis and Miami are the only remaining winless teams. Up until last night, New Orleans was on the winless list, thought they won last night 28-17 in Seattle.

If the Colts get steamrolled by the Pats and make a beeline to the Superbowl it’s going to be a pretty boring season.
Were the Cowboys the best the NFC could muster? Is that what we’re going to get for a Superbowl this year? Boooring!
How can the Patriots be so good but lack any sense of personality? It’s like they gave Randy Moss a labotomy.

At least the sucky NFC north will be exciting to watch. The unconvincing 5-1 Packers, the Bears coming apart at the seams, Vikings having nothing going for them except an emmerging Adrian Peterson all-star, the Lions???

If Gruden can find a better replacement RB than Zack Crockett (I’m thinking Ricky Williams perhaps), the Bucs have a shot to challenge the Cowboys for the right to get slaughtered by the Pats in the Super Bowl.

<Giggles to himself thinking about how many times Joey Harrington is going to get his ass planted in the dirt by Umenyiora tonight>

By the by, now that the season is nearly 1/3rd over, I love the little things you start to see when you look at the the Standings.

Who has it tougher? The Pats are 6-0, all other AFC East teams combine for a jaw-dropping 2-15 record. The Colts are 5-0, all other AFC South teams combine for a much more respectable 10-6 record.

Speaking of the AFC South, a .500 record there is currently good for last place (3-3 Texans). That same .500 record will get you first place in the AFC West (the 3-3 Chiefs) and the NFC West (3-3 Cardinals).
