The London game will only be available on Yahoo! streaming. It’s free, but the game will not be televised. There is some mystery surrounding Percy Harvin not making the trip to London. Rex says it’s a non-injury personal issue. The NFL network reports it is injury related, never mind what Rex says.

Ben Roethlisberger might return for the Steelers.

Dez Bryant apparently plans to return for the Cowboys.

There’s rumors that Percy Harvin is contemplating retirement. But there’s also rumors he’s not admissible into the UK. This guy is a major head case. If he retires, I’ll assume it’s a Ricky Williams style retirement

While Tom Brady says he wants to play another 10 years.

It feels to me like a terrible week of football. The entire country is stuck with the Dallas/NY game in the afternoon, tonight’s matchup looks bad, the Sunday night game looks boring, and the Monday night game looked a lot better at the start of the season. The only game between two teams with a winning record is Patriots/Jets

Yeah, the Monday night game often gets shafted by picking 2 teams that look good coming into the season. Hell, some thought the Ravens could be a Super Bowl team. And I couldn’t care less about tonight’s game. But I’m actually interested to see the Philly/Carolina matchup on Sunday night. Philly could make a big statement after shutting down the Giants.

Prediction: GB will remain undefeated.

Brian

So will Cincinnati and Denver. Mark it down!

Bears cut Jeremiah Ratliff, no reason given. He’s had issues before though with a DUI suspension. He didn’t take the news well and security had to escort him out.

for the most part it seems logical but then there’s some things that really confuse me
why does that small area of Oregon get Atlanta @ Tennessee?

Yeah, it was a rather boring game Thursday night – maybe not even as good as that movie Thursday’s Game. But I was kind of struck by the overhead shots of the field, with those odd trapezoidal extensions on either side. Made it look like some sort of rectangular thing with “wings”.

Looks like that includes the area around Eugene, so I imagine it’s for Titans QB Marcus Mariota who went to the University of Oregon.

49ers looked like a high school team on the field. Kaepernick was throwing it 3 miles over his receivers heads and the defense was like “Maybe if I stand near the Seattle RBs, they’ll just fall down so I don’t have to tackle them.” What a boring first half; I didn’t bother with the second half.

The 49ers are terrible, which is not news. But I heard this morning they have 3 games in which they only achieved 10 or fewer 1st downs. The rest of the NFL combined has 1 such game.

As a Hawks fan, it worries me that the tame media in that area is acting like beating the terrible Niners is this season’s breakout. I’ll believe “turnaround” if Seattle can beat Arizona in a couple of weeks.

This game only means that Seattle is less bad than San Fransisco. Which, if you think about it, isn’t either surprising or meaningful.

I think Jim Harbaugh took all the mojo with him to Michigan.

If there’s any lesson in this game for Seattle, it’s that the shambling abomination that is the 2015 49ers is what Seattle could become, if they don’t figure out their problems.

Most of what I’m hearing is “it’s hard to dominate any NFL team, so this is good news for the Seahawks.” I think there’s something to that, but… So far, the defense seem to absolutely dominate bad teams, allowing 6 points combined to the lions, niners, and bears. So I’m with you: I’ll believe it when they can show up against a good team.

The Hawks have had two OT games so far, one against the journey-level Rams and one against the raging Bengals. It is the close games that are the hurdle: a good team wins the close ones most of the time, an off team does not. The past couple of years, the Hawks were winning the close ones, now they seem to have lost that edge. It is not a SB year for them.

Seattle’s defense is still good, but not as dominant as they have been the last couple years. They ought to be concerned about their offense, though. Marshawn had a nice game, and that makes all the difference. They can’t ask Russell Wilson to win games single handedly. Also, what is the deal with Jimmy Graham? Dude had 2 catches last night. He’s gone invisible.

I just don’t think he fits what the Seahawks are good at. Graham is a sharp route runner with good hands, which doesn’t help at all when your QB is scrambling around and improvising. He can’t block very well, which is really what Seattle needs out of a tight end. He’s basically a better Doug Baldwin, only not in the right position. It was a dumb trade to make, and it shows. They needed the O-line to be solid, and they traded away the centerpiece of it for a player that doesn’t fit their offensive scheme.

Well, I think I can use my AppleTV and one of the many apps on it (either NFL or Yahoo) to get the Bills game. If I really want to. Which I don’t think I’m actually going to do.

Seriously, if they are going to insist on sending two teams several time zones to play a game, couldn’t they at least make it a decent matchup, even if only on paper at the start of the series? I’d pay money to see Jerry Jones’ reaction if he was told the Cowboys were going to London and there was nothing he could do about it.

I despise London games. But, I highly doubt the NFL will ever force the Cowboys , Patriots , or Steelers to give up a home game.
