NFL Wild Card Weekend

Saturday

Arizona @ Carolina -5.5 / 37.5
Baltimore @ Pittsburgh -3 / 46

Sunday

Cincinnati @ Indianapolis -3.5 / 48
Detroit @ Dallas -6.5 / 48

Baltimore at Pittsburgh will be the best game, as those games always are. I really wish I didn’t hate both franchises so that I could enjoy those games more, because that series has brought a significant portion of the best NFL games in the last decade. It’s the only scenario in which I will root for Pittsburgh, because while I am not fond of them, they deserve respect and deserve to exist. The other team is a black mark on sports.

I think Pittsburgh will exploit Baltimore’s current secondary for some big passing plays, but this game can go either way. 27-24 Pittsburgh.

Carolina vs Arizona will be a defensive struggle and a test to see what a team can do without a quarterback. It’d be more interesting, I think, if Andre Ellington was in the game. Defensive battle with some turnovers and not a lot of scoring. Carolina 13, Arizona 10.

Cincinatti @ Indianapolis. I really don’t know whether to root for Cincinnati or not. They’re a division rival, but they’re also like our retarded little brother. But I’ve grown to hate the Indianapolis franchise over the last few years. They have awful fans, managed to get lucky twice to land the quarterback of their generaton, and are a cowardly organization. Still, Andy Dalton primetime choke after. Colts 33-Cinci 20.

Detroit @ Dallas. Suh getting his suspension revoked is obnoxious. It’s really hard to decide whether the Cowboy’s general franchise obnoxiousness is worse, or if you should root against unpunished dirty play. I guess Detroit in the superbowl would be a bigger story and shocker, so I’ll be rooting that way indifferently. Hard to say how this game can go - it’s weird watching Detroit winning low scoring games with defense. Advantage home team. Dallas 23 Detroit 17.

Sun should be kicked out of the NFL. He is rotten. Such potential, too…
Tonight’s game will the one to watch, I agree

What’s the weather for Stoners v Ratbirds?

Ugh, the Cardiac Cats don’t believe in making it easy, do they?

Godawful play calling by arizona. A goal line formation on the 10? What is that even supposed to do?

I remember quite well the Cardinals going to Carolina and winning back in January of 2009. Third string QB Lindley doesn’t inspire much confidence, but this team has been resilient all year. Hoping for a Cards win and then hopefully a Stanton return.

Is this game going to come down to a choking punter?

It looks like neither team really wants to win yet. Panthers looked good until that muffed punt, not sure why that rattled them.

Actually have a decent game going here. Would like both teams to be a lot more aggressive on offense. Cards just got screwed pretty bad on that DPI call just now. Aaaand Carolina scores.

You don’t often see a meatball like Tolbert out in the flat like that.

Don’t have a dog in this fight, don’t care about either team, but holy cow, some questionable interference calls on Arizona.

What has “intent” got to do with whether it is a forward pass or a lateral? Is that part of the rule?

Never mind, the ref just informed me that it is by rule.

Wow. Right back the other way. Cards *still *only have 62 yards in the game!

ETA: sorry, they have 70 yards. Not that that’s too much better.

I have now officially given up on making any guess on this game. This is simply a fucking ghastly football game.

I wonder how it would’ve been with even a 2nd string QB.

Still, that’s how the Cards managed their team. Their loss is … well, their loss, apparently.

Carolina is going to get above .500.

Ended with 97 total.

SMH

ugly ugly ugly
Do Panthers match up well against ANY other team possible in the next round?

I just found out that my local NBC station is in a dispute with DirecTV and has been off the air for two days. No game for me.

You just can’t judge a sports team simply off their most recent game.

That said, I can’t imagine that either Green Bay or Seattle would have any problem toasting Carolina.
