I’ll be at the Panthers/Cardinals game Saturday night. I think it’ll be a decent game, even if Boldin doesn’t play. The Panthers needed the bye to get healthy, but they historically have not played that well after time off. I think they should take this one though. Even though the Cardinals could have won the game they played in Charlotte earlier this year, their running game is really clicking right now, and Delhomme seems to be a better QB in the playoffs.
I think the Giants/Eagles will be close but expect the Giants to win.
I’m picking Baltimore to upset the Titans.
If Big Ben is 100%, the Steelers end the Bolts’ season.
The Cards shocked me by completely shutting down Michael Turner last week at home, and if they are able to continue that type of execution against the Panthers then the cats are in deep trouble. I’m not sure what the deal is the the Cards on the East Coast but I’m going to guess that playoff intensity and focus will offset that strange trend and make it moot. If Boldin can’t go however, I think they will be screwed. He’s their most important player right now.
Titans beat the Ravens in a defensive battle.
Carolina rolls over Arizona, but don’t pull away until the second half.
Giants over the Eagles in a close one.
The Chargers upset Steelers.
I think Philly is on a roll and will topple the Giants
Baltimore will beat Tennessee by a hair
and the Chargers will win in Pittsburg well, because I have a Chargers/Cards Super Bowl wish
I think all the games are going to be good solid games… All are worth watching.
If any games turn into a landslide I expect it to be the Cards or Eagles reverting to chaotic poor taklers which they showed from time to time in the season.
For the Steelers, it really depends on which Ben shows up. The D will crush the Chargers, but if Ben just hurls it randomly into the air, the Bolts will end up winning off of interceptions. We’ll see.
If anyone wants to join in on our prediction contest this week you’re welcome to. You won’t be in the running for the overall competition, but I’ll list your scores for the week to week part and you can see how you stack up.
The Ravens just upset the Titans. I never would have expected Baltimore to go this far. This looks like we could be headed for a Ravens-Steelers AFC Championship game. It’s my understanding that those two teams don’t like each other much.
It looked like two correctional facilities from two different counties beating the shit out of each other for TV privileges. For awhile, it didn’t seem like anybody wanted to win, as much as they simply wanted to crush the other guy into the ground.
I can’t believe how badly the Titans imploded there. They were handling that game pretty well and just coughed up opportunity after opportunity. So many stupid penalties, botched snaps and turnovers in scoring position. They got hosed on that no-call on the delay of game, but it’s tough to scream too loudly when you choke over and over before that.
Is it too soon to start quoting Hamlet’s comments on Joe Flacco back from the off-season and draft discussion threads?
DRC has an interception to halt a Carolina drive. Arizona could make me 6-0! Looks like the game tonight is going to be a shoot out. Who ever has the least turn overs is going to win. Right now Carolina is 2 turnovers down.
