NFL Divisional Playoff Weekend

I think the Panthers are trying to out-implode the Titans. Spectacular game of suck, so far.

It was a great defensive game, but I hate games where teams make mistakes. And not just little mistakes, but a lot of really big mistakes. The turnovers in the red zone and penalties on the Titans took a huge chunk out of my viewing pleasure. I want good teams that are playing well, not a game where one team basically hands the victory to another. And that’s what the Titans did.

With 2:00 to go in the first half, Delhomme is 4 of 9 for 31 yards and 2 interceptions. What sort of QB rating does that yield?

-610?

Knock yourself out. If you think the Ravens are winning because of Flacco, have at it. I’m not all that impressed with a 50% completion rate and a total of 161 yards with a quarter of it coming on one play. Nor am I all that impressed with a 3 point win on the last play of the game when the other team literally gave away 17 or so points. But, by all means, I grant you that Flacco rates up there with the other great Ravens quarterback who got his team through the playoffs, the mighty Trent Dilfer.
Note: In reality, he had an OK rookie season.

If the Cards put point on the board again before the half, it might be time to tune out because the Panthers are cooked.

No points, but a nice 20 point lead.

I am hoping to see a WR showcase of Fitz and Smith the second half.
I am liking Arizona’s DB Wilson is a beast at safety, Rolle is a pleasure to watch when he is returning INTs (the man can dance and run in the open field) DRC looks like he could become an impressive CB with his athletic ability and Hood is a pretty solid 2nd CB.

Here we go second quarter!

In what alternate universe? The lines were almost uniform that the Titans were 3 point favorites, from what I can tell.

While it was a nice stop by the Panthers D, when you’ve already given up 27 points and are losing by 20, I don’t want to see you celebrating like you just won the fucking game.

Come on over. We’re having a Cardinals party here and I’ll pass it over! :stuck_out_tongue:

Kurt threw an INT. sigh Now Carolina had a good shot at points on the board. I fear a chicago style meltdown… crap Rolle has an INT off a double tip… Aint he pretty when he returns an INT. I really would love to see him try punt returns one day.

You must be really happy tonight. You’ve been expecting big things from the Cards all year, and tonight is the payoff!

It’s been an interesting contrast in the home crowds for the two games tonight. The Titans crowd was simply awesome. They were just shaking the place to the rafters and the teams on the field were completely feeling it. In a way that might account for a bit of the Titans careless penalties. The Panthers home crowd is about 180 degrees from that. they have been pathetic all game. The stadium was half empty after half time, even though the game was still in reach. Even after the Panthers initial score the response was modest.
Did anyone see this Cardinals run defense coming? Where was it all year and what the hell are they doing now to stop what were two powerful and dogged running attacks.

The run defense was always there. They have always been there in week 3 held Portis to 60 something yards, week 6 Barber to 46 yard, the Giants to 89 total rushing yards. The three times they were trashed by runners were week 8 by D. Williams (108yards)Westbrook for 113 in week 13 and A. Peterson in week 15. The D-line is solid, Williams ate them alive because, get this Hood was out with injury Yeah the CB. With Hood out, A.Wilson had to lay back away form the line more to cover the suck that is Eric Green at covering recievers. The Philly game was short week (4 days) and traveling across the country. The Vikes Petersonis a damn good runner and the Arizona d-line was not focused. When they stay in their gaps they are damn good at stopping the run. With DRC improving at CB they can keep from rolling safety help and coverages to hide that weakness. (the suck that was Green).

If they can keep focus and play their positions smart, they can do well. No one will mistake them for Baltimore or Pittsburg, but they are good enough to keep them in games barring an offensive turnover machine.

Yippie Arizona! It is so nice to see a team I have rooted for 30 years finally make it to the NFC title game!

I just looked at their game-by-game box scores and they were eating up some decent running games all season. The media really missed the ball on under-reporting that.

Ok, I know I’m totally clueless because I haven’t been following much. Despite my location I am actually a Panthers fan . . . does this mean they’re done for the season?

Yes.

Damn. They’re the only team I follow but it’s been spotty since I moved here because their games rarely get shown here. Too bad. I guess Go Cards now that the Panthers are out of it.

I was at the game, and while it’s true that the stadium started to empty after halftime, I have to disagree with the beginning of the game. The stadium was rocking early. Unfortunately, the signs are fairly obvious when Delhomme is going to stink the joint up. It deflated the crowd pretty quick, because when he has 1 turnover, he usually has more.

Congrats to **dalej42 **and other Cards fans, they were the far better team last night. The Panthers were outplayed and out coached in every facet of the game. It was a putrid display of ineptitude.

During the pregame someone referred to the Ravens as one point favorites. Apparently they were wrong. My bad.
