No wonder I’m not doing well in this competition. I am not factoring the weather in my picks. :smack:
Then again, how come I leading the competition in passing? :dubious: My guess is dumb luck.

My guess is 'cause you got 419 yards from Drew Brees thanks to the Keystone Cops of football, the Washington Redskins.
I was leading the league before my awesome 419 yd performance last week.
I bet Lieu is happy he got off the Ben Roethlisberger bandwagon tonight. 99 yds, halfway through the 3rd qtr. Strangely, Holmes has 76 of those 99 yards, and that would be one of MY better scores at receiving.
FTR, I almost went with Roethlisberger this week. But I figured that they would blow out Cleveland and start running the ball. Weather was never a factor. There are a lot of empty seats in Cleveland tonight.
Because he’s a boom or bust kind of guy, relying on big plays for his yardage, and someone who depends on acceleration and quick cuts. A rainy, muddy game will hamper him in both respects and lead to, in all likelihood, a pedestrian statistical performance. I don’t want to have held on to Chris Johnson this whole time only to see him rush 25 times for 80 yards.
I, too, almost went with Roethlisberger, but weather was actually the deciding factor for me. The forecast said 50% chance of rain, and NW winds of 26 mph. Fuck that. (I didn’t see the game, so I have no idea how big of a factor the weather actually was.)
Now you might make me change my pick, but I got to take a chance to catch you.
I don’t think it was raining but the wind was definitely blowing. And it was cold, the coaches were wearing heavy parkas. ESPN’s box score says there were 69,000 fans at the game. If there were that many, half of them had to be invisible.
Tony Romo
Thomas Jones
Miles Austin
Well, looks like Sims-Walker won’t play. Let’s try a nice Marques Colston instead.
[sigh] Miles Austin? I’d feel a lot better if it was RNATB or Varlos echoing my pick. Off to search for another Wide Receiver [/sigh].
Just kidding!
Receiving:
My position in this league is based solely around my QB scores.
[Happy Dance]I think I’ll keep Miles Austin as my receiver. :D[/Happy Dance] while sadly noting that you picked Romo as your QB.
I’ll go with:
Peyton Manning
Ricky Williams
Steve Smith (CAR)
Crappy weather in the Northeast, and yes I am going to make a weather substitution:
Week 14:
Passing - Jason Campbell - WAS
Rushing - Chris Johnson - TEN
Receiving - Miles Austin - DAL
Looks like Omni is waiting to the last minute again.
I don’t feel too confident about any of my picks except Thomas Jones. I would rather take Rivers than Romo this week, but I looked up the last few matchups of the year and I’ve decided it works better if I save Rivers. Pairing up a QB/WR combo from Dallas in December could be a recipe of anal explosion.
Edit: Yeah, I’m really tempted to replace Austin with Mason. Hmm… will make another post if I decide to switch.
Actually I’m gonna switch.
Philip Rivers
Thomas Jones
Derick Mason
I have a feeling I going to regret not taking Garrard this week. SB, I wouldn’t take any reciever playing on the north-eastern seaboard today.
QB - Carson Palmer, Joe Flacco, Eli Manning, Matt Schaub, Mark Sanchez, Ben Roethlisberger, David Garrard, Matt Hasselbeck, Aaron Rodgers, Brett Favre, Tom Brady, Troy Smith
RB - Thomas Jones, Ryan Grant, Cedric Benson, Ronnie Brown, Maurice Jones-Drew, Donald Brown, Matt Forte, Frank Gore, Ricky Williams, Rashard Mendenhall, Steven Jackson, Ray Rice
WR - Marques Colston, Roy Williams, Santonio Holmes, Larry Fitzgerald, Wes Welker, Roddy White, Miles Austin, Vincent Jackson, Braylon Edwards, Andre Johnson, Dallas Clark, Donald Driver
QB - Drew Brees
RB - Fred Jackson
WR - Reggie Wayne
Those guys have all started their games already…
Yeah, but I got no cable right now and haven’t seen any scores or stats yet. I figured the 10 minutes would be ok. It’s not like I’m in contention anyways.
Mother of God. Matt Schaub has 336 passing yards in the first half.
