NHL 103 - December 2019

Missed the edit window. The jerseys are available for pre-order. I just ordered one which is probably why I missed the edit.

Cool!

Yeah I’ll second on the cool.

Guess who has been ranked top NHL player of the decade, by ESPN?

No doubt at all in my mind.

I truely suspect that Murray might be going through depression – he’s been having problems ever since his father died two years ago. That’s the only thing I can think of.
Or else maybe we DID make a mistake and trade the wrong goalie after all. :frowning:

Speaking of sweaters, last week we had “Ugly Sweater Night” at PPG Arena. Did anyone get a load of the one Dan Potash had on?

(I would LOVE it if they released this for sale on their website – a lot of people are asking about it)

I’ll take one with a Sean Avery on it.

It’s amazing. The Caps aren’t getting demolished by the Blue Jackets tonight.

Six wins in a row for the Leafs. Wow.

I think that the NHL owes Columbus an apology for last night. 1.1 seconds cost them a win and an injured goalie.

I am also curious to see how the outdoor game in Dallas goes down. The weather has been warm to say the least. New Years day it is supposed to be 52[sup]o[/sup]. I suppose that is better than the 2nd which will be in the mid 60s.

Not getting one. NHL has already doubled down, their mealy mouthed statement explains nothing and is angry that anybody dare point out how their officials screwed up. They are talking to Torts and Jarmo about how Torts’ presser was “unprofessional”. Fairly certain Colin Campbell is going to learn how to say cram it where the sun don’t shine in Finnish.

And the sun doesn’t shine in Finland for 3 months of the year.

Well, I can’t really comment on the quality of the ice, but you could be in short sleeves in just about any ice rink in Texas (including Stars games) since I was a tot, so 52 should be no problem. High humidity seems to be the biggest problem, instead of temperature. There’s a sight chance of rain in the afternoon, though. I think that would be harder to deal with.

Hey, I’d be far more worried if we had normal freezing precipitation for Texas in January predicted, which usually seems to trend to freezing rain and sleet. That seems like it would ruin a sheet of ice more quickly.

In other news, the Stars seem to often again be missing for most of the first period, but have been able to actually come back from it when they do. It’s not how I’d tell them to play, but they seem to be able to succeed with it.

Caps lose two in a row. Took half the season but all of the teams have lost two in a row at least once.

New thread started for January.
