NHL April 2018 & post-season

Well, HOPEFULLY, if all goes well, it will be the rest of the season. (3ELIEVE!!!)
Anyone else think Primantis needs to make a sandwich for Jake Guentzel? They did it for Crosby, they did it for the HBK Line, I’d say it’s time for the Jake & Bake.

No more predictions; I just want the win. Go Knights!

ETA: At work today, everyone I met said “good morning” and immediately followed it with “that game sucked”. I agreed with every single person.

Hey, I thought it was the best game of the series!

Let’s go to the quarry and throw stuff down there! I bet! Must have felt like sweet revenge after Game 1, eh.

Now y’all have to come back to Las Vegas tho.

Really hoping Jets would go up 3-1, but Nashville played a solid road game, with Rinne making some big stops. Not the most exciting play-off game I’ve watched.

Speculated earlier about a Knights/Pens final, but this Canadian - as Canadians are often wont to do - will default to whatever Canadian teams are remaining in the play-offs, so I’m hoping for the Jets in the final, against anyone.

Surprised if Jets/Preds doesn’t go 7.

It was a great game!

It was a fantastic game!

Rest in peace, Bill Torrey. He was only 83. I would have sworn he was in his 60s or 70s back in the day with the Islanders. Still, he built a hell of a team.

GO SHARKS!!

I’m leaving work now and have it taped, so will catch up to the game soon.

GO SHARKS!!

So Bruins lose on their third game in a row, playing 5 on 8. Seriously, is this just random chance of eight or ten bad calls in a row against the Bruins, or has Marchand pissed off the refs that much?

Tonight, even the neutral announcers were shaking their head in amazement at the softness of a tripping call for the Lightning, then later when Tampa Bay scored after tripping/pulling down a B’s defenseman with no call, as the announcers called it the most obvious penalty they’ve ever seen.

We’ve all seen the game 2 Marchand earning a penalty shot for getting slashed on a breakaway with no call; Chara got a stick in the face in game 3 (with a 5-1 power play advantage to Tampa Bay!) with no call.

I mean, it’s like watching the NBA, now. I didn’t think the NHL had moved that way. Have I missed something?

Are you kidding? The refs have had their heads stuffed up their asses for decades.

Holding my breath…3-4, we could do it.

Go Sharks!!!

Goaaaaal!

damn

Got to be a nail-biter near the end of Knights/Sharks game, and I don’t even have an Abe Vigoda in the race. Crazy three-goal burst in just over six minutes in the third!
Definitely the fiestiest, most spirited game of the series.

In other news, Marchand needs to lick a little less.

He needs a 15 game suspension. Starting today. Either that or I would upper cut him under the chin the next time he tries that shit.

[url=]Marchand has been warned!

But he doesn’t really appear to take it seriously:

I hope his NHL career is coming to a close. Soon.

I disagree. Hockey is a very difficult game to officiate: it’s fast and allows full body contact. There’s not another sport in which it’s so difficult to consistently get things right. Overall things seem to even out.

There’s no collision or conspiracies; it’s just a fast and fluid game. The refs do a pretty damned fine job.

Wow; go Caps!

That was an incredible 3d period after a seriously lackluster 2nd, eh. Early, the Penguins were their dynamic, relentless selves but they sure seemed to run out of gas halfway thru the 3rd period. Somehow they slowed down just enough to allow the Caps’ offensive strategy of “get it over the blue line and then take a one-timer” to prevail.

Grats Winnipeg; can they close it out Monday?
