What a fucking beatdown that was! It wasn’t just the St. Louis Blues telling San Jose “not today,” it was their bench and their fans and the officials and the entire freaking universe! Those Sharks looked broken at the end of that game eh.
I’m glad I picked St. Louis in my pool.
San Jose is toast.
Holy shit!!! Go Blues!!!
That’s two minutes for jinxing it!!!
Heck of a game, Blues! Gotta wonder how different that game would have been if that shot ten seconds in had gone in instead of hitting the post.
The Sharks bench was looking pretty sparse there at the end. Almost looked like there were more players on the ice than on the bench!
Omg, I was at the game today. That was the worst loss I ever personally witnessed in my life.
Well, damn. The Blues sure opened that can of Whup Ass today. And the Sharks sure choked on it and got pummeled by it.
Congrats, Blues and fans, you done good today and you’ve put the Sharks into a serious hole to get out of. Can they do it? Man, I hope so.
One thing that struck me. After the Hurricanes lost their series, their fans stayed til the end, and gave their team an ovation to thank them for the good season they gave, and offer them support. The Sharks fans left early, and the arena was dead quiet. That’s got to add to the hurt.
I’m proud to say I stayed to the very last second, even though it was a miserable experience.
The arena was dead quiet, for sure, but I didn’t notice people leaving until there were only about 4 minutes left, when Schwarz scored his 3rd (and 5th for St. Louis). THEN people were, IMO, able to see that the watching the last 4 minutes would be pointless except to say they watched it all (sorry, suranyi). I don’t really blame anyone for walking out after watching only 56 minutes of what is sure to be a full 60 minute beatdown eh.
A true fan! Let’s hope they bring it to the Blues in St. Louis tomorrow. Bring that can of whup ass.
I’ve been meaning to ask. What is the logo on the Carolina Hurricanrs’ alternate jersey supposed to be?
It’s the nautical flag code for “hurricane warning.” Also notice the space between the flags is roughly the shape of North Carolina.
ETA: If it were one flag it would mean “storm warning.”
Ah. Thank you.
Thanks for the explanation. It’s an odd logo.
I remember going to a Washington Nationals game and a local fan there said their W is like the Walgreens logo.
Fans always stay if it’s the confirmed final game of the season. It’s possible that a lot of the Sharks fans who left early felt they won’t see their team again, however it’s much more likely that if that had been an eliminating game, those same Sharks fans would’ve stayed until the end, despite the lopsided score.
If you look carefully, there’s what appears to be a time-traveling Washington Nationals hat in The Karate Kid (1984).
ETA: (It’s actually a Washington Senators hat, circa right before they moved to Texas and became the Rangers. Also, coincidentally, the actor wearing the hat in the movie was named “Larry Drake,” a name he shared with an actual baseball player who played four games for the Senators in 1948.)
.
Lost track of time because the news ran late because of severe weather coverage in the area. Turned the game on a minute and a half late, Blues had scored already!
I hope they wrap it up tonight… gotta believe the Blues do NOT want to go back to San Jose for a game 7.
Any way a pro sports franchise will find to try to get fans to buy more of its merchandise, it will do it. Coming up with “alternate” uniforms is one of those ways (I don’t deny that some alternate jerseys/uniforms are pretty cool. But not ALL of them!).
San Jose is eating a shark sandwich after the first.
OK; St. Louis is not fucking around at all anymore.
