NHL April 2019/ Playoff Thread

For those that missed the article:

Wow. But I agree. It was clearly a hand pass and that’s how the Sharks scored that final goal.

But there were several missed calls earlier in the game, and one that was pretty pivotal – the missed delay of game when the puck was hit by a STL player out of play.

Missed calls are part of the game. As a Sharks fan, I’ll take it. The Logan Couture goalie interference in VGK game 2 was a bad call too.

There were a number of bad and missed calls in Wednesday’s game. Any one of them could have resulted in a different outcome of the game. That being said, if the Blues had bothered to score on our empty net, there wouldn’t have been an OT goal to be disputed.

The Blues are definitely fired up…scored in the first 35 seconds.

…And again 1:32 later.

Good job, Blues!

Go Blues!

This series will be a dogfight.

I’m not a fan of any of the teams left in the tournament but after seeing Boston sweep Carolina right out of the playoffs I’m convinced that the Boston Bruins are gonna be the next Stanley Cup champions. Sorry San Jose/St. Louis.

Boston is going to be tough but they are going to have a 10 day break before the finals start. Now, some rest is good to help the sore players get a little better, but there is a lot to be said for being in that groove of playing every other day.

You make a good point but if Tuukka Rask stays “on point” in the Finals the way he was against Carolina then you might as well put Boston’s name on the Stanley Cup right now.

I had been half-jokingly telling people that they should spot the Blues a goal to start game 4, to make up for that missed call at the end of game 3. But a goal 35 seconds in was good enough for me.

Bo I don’t know if you are talking about the same thing I thought I saw, but it definitely looked like something went in (or close to it) just a few minutes after the first goal. But there was no horn, none of the players reacted, none of the announcers said anything about it, so I figured I was just seeing things.

Yes Rask has been great, but he’s had to be great in part because of Boston’s defensive mistakes. The Bruins overall defense is reduced to one element: Rask. That’s not a good overall defensive strategy.

Nope just got bad info… I was told St. Louis scored with 17:53 left not that they scored at 17:53. :smack:

And an injured Chara certainly hasn’t helped. He’s actually looked quite shaky at points.
Useless 42 year-old.

I heard during Game 4 of BOS - CAR that Boston (or, at least, “the Boston area”) is trying for something that hasn’t happened since the 1930s: one city laying claim to three pro championships at once (back then it was Detroit with the Tigers, Lions, and Red Wings). So I just feel that the Bruins are going to get that done (remember: I’m NOT a Boston Bruins fan). We’ll see.

Boston was hoping for four before the Bucks gored the Celtics.

The Blues scored first in San Jose!

I saw this quote right before the game started today:

In 1980 Philly played in the finals for all four championships. but only won one.

Okay. The “Iggles” lost to Oakland. The Raiders were very motivated to win that S.B. and I’m not sure the “Iggles” were; I think maybe knocking the Cowboys off in the N.F.C. title game took something out of them. The 76ers got beat by a budding dynasty (and rookie sensation) and the Flyers also lost to a budding dynasty. I’m not sure that either San Jose or St. Louis are in that category but we’ll see!

These guys are so tired, I thought they’d have to take the Sharks out on stretchers. The Blues are hardly excited for their victory. I think they all just want to go to bed and sleep.
