Curious what Kane and Reeves might be up to tonight.
Congrats Blue Jackets.
This must be one of the biggest upsets in NHL playoff history, no one sane had the Jackets in a sweep.
Damn. Epic choke.
Almost wrote “Caps-worthy choke,” but not even the Caps got swept out the first round, ever.
Fucking amazing conclusion from the Blue Jackets. 7-3! Epic collapse from Tampa Bay!
And now it looks like the Islanders are about to send the Pens packing…
ETA: Sent! Two giant sweeps to start the post-season!
The only good thing about this is that at least I’m not a Tampa fan. THAT I think would hurt even worse.
Now all I can hope is that Washington doesn’t win again. (Excuse me while I go drown myself in a keg of Iron City)
Well Svetch and Ovetchkin have been getting chippy the whole series.
We’ll see what we can do. although I do giggle that Brock McGinn has more playoff goals this year than Crosby or Jeff Skinner.
I’m flabbergasted with the Blue Jackets and the Islanders.
It’s unbelievable.
It’s like we spotted them the first game of the series as a prank…
Yaaasssss! Go Islanders!
Guin, Iron City? Wasn’t the series punishment enough? At least drink IC Light which is less bad.
Like I’ve been saying all along…never doubt the CBJ.
Guess Tortorella’s job is safe, at least for 2019-20.
Yeah and I bought in to the prank! Now down 3-1, it looks like yet another postseason epic fail for San Jose. For 10+ seasons San Jose looks strong in the regular season but only to come up like playoff pansies and wimps, out-muscled, out-skated, out-desired, out-hustled, out-smarted, and out-coached.
Fucking pansies, the San Jose Shirks.
It reminds me of the movie, The Natural, when the loser team brings in the sports psychology to lecture their players on Losing Is A Disease — “The mind is a strange thing, and you must begin by asking it, ‘What is losing?’ Losing, is a disease…” — https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=WN-aCYVVtyo
Fucking pansies, the San Jose Shirks.
Strong start for the Stars. The power play shows up early and often. 3 goals on 5 shots.
Rinne is pulled after giving up 4 goals on 8 shots.
Yeah, they were talking on the radio about it being the worst crater in around 100 years of pro team sports due to it being a sweep in a multi-game series of a team that tied a record for wins in the league. I totally expected them to win at least one game. For Tampa to be swept is just stunning.
Wow, yeah. That’s where the power play was! The only thing to be sad about in that game for a Stars fan was Bishop’s shutout being taken away by a pretty gigantic screen.
RE: Whether deadline trades make a difference. Zuccarello has certainly made a difference in the Stars’ offense. Even if he didn’t get to help a lot with the playoff push, in the one game he played with us before being injured he scored, then broke his arm blocking a shot. If you’re going to get injured, that’s the kind of game I’d want you to have. He’s scored in all of our playoff wins, two of which were won by a single goal. If nothing else, he’s added enough depth to make our second line a real threat. I’d say he’s been indispensable.
Nine teams finished with 100 or more points this season. Two of them, Tampa and Pittsburgh, were swept out of the first round. Calgary and San Jose could likely be out in five games. Boston or Toronto will be gone by the end of the round. And it is 50-50 for Nashville.
The Islanders have played well so far and the Caps are looking okay. It is a tough first round on the higher seeds and that is what make the Stanley Cup playoffs so great.
I see former Cap backup goalie Philipp Grubauer is doing well in Colorado. Wish they could have held onto him, but they couldn’t afford him, and he deserved a chance to start somewhere.
Those dog-house Flames lose their last two by giving up late (within last 3 min.) leads.
Consistently good during the regular season and consistently crummy in the play-offs, as ever.
Alright Sharks, here we go…
The Washington Capitals are suddenly looking like the Caps of old. Game 5 is a strongly suggested win, there is no way they should be even with the Canes.
