NHL April+Playoffs.

Holy crap! A tie game now!

And Justin Williams with assists on 3 of them.

NY is toast now.

OT

Had to call a high stick on that.

I thought this game was over 3 times now.

2OT

Amazing… tho that third goal… was goalie interference…

My legs ache just watching this…

Brown wins it in 2OT with the redirect!

I started watching the Chicago - LA series after the Pens were elminated, caught a few games of NY - Montreal, then both games of the final.
Wow.
Some of the best hockey I’ve seen. Usually when my teams are eliminated I lose interest, but these playoffs have been so intense and so good that I don’t want it to end. I hope the final goes to 7 games!

Yes it was. LA stole that game, even though I think their gonna win it all anyways.

Hockey question

During Game 2, at one point the puck popped up near the Rangers goal and one of the Rangers grabbed it with his glove and dropped it on the ice. Suppose that happened near the other goal. Could he have turned around and threw it into the goal with his hand? Can guys scoop up the puck from play and skate around with it for a while?

You’re allowed to hand-pass the puck in the defensive zone only. You can’t skate while handling it; you’re only allowd to catch and drop it immediately.

You can use your hand to bring the puck immediately to the ice. ‘Immediately’ has a loose definition though. You can’t throw the pick into the net but you can bring it down to your stick and shoot it in.

Rangers can’t complain about the officiating in this game.

Rangers couldn’t put anything in the net in the 2nd. The goal was blocked by a [del]Quick[/del] brick wall.

4:00 on a 6 on 5 to end the game, and the Rangers got their 1st SOG with 10 seconds left in the game.

Have folks given up on this already? Anyway, I hear a lot about the Kings goals being lucky, etc. But lets examine a couple of things, the first goal, while it went off the skate was the result of some good setup play by the Justin Williams and ore importantly a very stupid decision by the Rangers to leave Carter alone and have two players go after Williams with very little time on the clock. The second goal was also the result of some unnecessary play, i.e. St. Louis trying to play goalie ten feet in front of the goal. Blocking shots is a strategy, some teams emphasize it more than others. But if that is your strategy then that is the risk you take. The third goal was also lucky as the result of smart vs dumb play. The Kings got a two on one thanks in large part to unwise decisions to pinch by Girardi and to go puck hunting by St. Louis. The Kings took advantage with some strong puck play and anticipation. These are not fortuitous these are the products of poor play by the Rangers and good play by the Kings. I can agree that Lundqvist individually may feel unlucky, the goals were not really his fault, but the Rangers as a team, has no right to talk about luck.

A team that gets two shots - 2 - in the third period of a game they need to win has no right to complain about being unlucky. Two shots in a period is not bad luck, it’s incompetence. They’re overmatched.
