No kidding. I remember when being a Blackhawks fan was an anomaly.
Of course a lot of that is probably due to the change in the environment. I remember when leaving your seat in the middle of a period could quite likely get you punched. You would have been nuts to bring your kids. Now it’s like Disneyland.
Wow. Columbus has just scored three goals in 5 minutes after being down 4-0. Interesting finish to the game and possibly series.
ETA: 2 minutes left. Goalie out.
ETAA: Game over
Oh well. Fun finish, but another one of my teams out. I’m pulling for the Wild against the Avalanche.
Wild takes care of business at home again. Back to Colorado for one last crack at them on their ice. Hopefully fourth times a charm.
Sure would like another shot at the Hawks.
Go Wild, and go Kings! Sorry to the sharks fans but this series is over, Kings will add to history.
More importantly… GO FLYERS!!! GIVE ME GAME SEVEN!!
I’m not even sure I want the Sharks to win any more. Their performance in the last couple of games has been embarrassing.
I picked the Sharks to beat LA in 7 on nhl’s bracket challenge, but it would sure be nice to see the Kings come back from 0-3 series deficit. The Wings almost did it to the Sharks back in '11, but lost the 7th game. I’ve heard Sharks fans lament that their team is cursed and I gotta agree. They have made the playoffs consecutive years, always ranking strong in the regular season, but have never made the finals.
OK, I didn’t get to watch the Sharks because my wife decided we were watching Saving Mr. Banks instead. Given how the game turned out, and how good the movie was, I don’t feel disappointed.
I am disappointed by the Sharks. WTF, guys? Every year the same thing? No, I take that back. Each year has had it’s own unique disappointment.
In the arena? Yeah, anytime Detroit or Pittsburgh plays here in the regular season it is pretty common that season ticket holders just sell their tickets through exchanges. These of course get gobbled up by traveling Pens/Wings fans, making Nationwide Arena a near “home ice” for the visiting team. Compounding the problem is that Columbus also has a large population of ex-Pittsburgh and ex-Detroit residents living here due to the good economy and jobs.
That said, for the playoffs season ticket holders were not selling their tickets on the exchanges. And the CBJ organization restricted ticket sales to those outside this market so the visiting team didn’t have as many opportunities to buy-up tickets for the games at Nationwide Arena.

So… three game 7s tomorrow night. Are you excited? I’m excited. A bit weird that 6 and 7 are back to back for PHI-NYR, when the NHL seems so hell-bent on avoiding back to backs in the playoffs, but hey, better for us all.
Very excited. I’ll miss the Philly game, but I’ll be home in time for the other two.
GO GO NY RANGERS!!! (Fuck the Flyers.)
Ahhhh, Gweeena. The Cindy Crosby worshipper. I almost forgot about you!
I already bet $1 that Crosby will knock away TWO gloves on the ice with his stick this year!
After the sweep with Boston last year, I remember him saying that his line “did really well”. His line was -6 points, no goals, no assists. -4 will be an improvement!
Anywho… GO FLYERS!
Giroux Flyers!
Thank you, my canine servant friend!
Cindy Crosby? Doesn’t that ever get old? Please.
Ehhh, perhaps. Not in chant form with a few thousand peeps, larynxes pulsating, echo of the stadium…
I’ll give you some credit on the Pens side: Malkin. That guy is a monster. Stopping him is far from probable. If he gets no goals, he’ll have at least 3 assists. So, a compliment for thee.
BOS-MTL starts Thursday night. Game two will be a matinee in Boston on Saturday. I figured Saturday would be a night game for the CBC to showcase the only Canadian team to qualify for the tournament.
Boston and Montreal in the playoffs, it never gets old.
It’s a bit older than the “Matt Cooke Has Changed His Ways” story got, I guess.
But seriously, insulting ways of spelling a player’s name is a sure sign people are terrified of him. You don’t see anyone making fun of Dion Phaneuf’s name because nobody cares about him.
