It is a free donut for a win. Half off Papa Johns for two goals or more, win or lose, regulation or OT. The downside is of course that it is Papa John’s.
Scoring troubles or not, the Jackets are in a play off position and not even a wild card slot. Which is more than certain Metro teams. The Metro division, where a staggering three points separate second from out of the race.
IMO this was another very satisfying All-Star weekend. And I’m not just saying that because Pacific won today.
I had to watch the skill stuff online after the fact but it was still great. Loved Fleury’s saves, loved Ovechkin’s 101.3mph shot and thought that Subban’s glove was funny as hell.
And I continue to greatly enjoy the 4v4 format; there’s some fantastic hockey going on out there.
Now that will be something I am not used to. Seems like every year, I watch good teams trade away perfectly good players playing on a perfectly good line, only to see the end of their season tank because the chemistry and cohesiveness of the team is now upset from what months of work produced.
So far I’ve been really impressed with the smarts that Las Vegas has shown in getting good, mostly young players and forging them into a team. I hope that intelligence shows up in the teams trading (or lack of it) as well.
How’d y’all like that win against Calgary last night, eh?
