Well, some channels are slowly coming back – please, please let them all be okay by tomorrow night! I was able to watch downstairs, but goddammit, it’s still fucking annoying!
We got a win though! We didn’t exactly play all that great, but it’s the first game of the season, and I’ll take what I can get.

Ok, I just got home from work and I gotta say: Fleury sure stunk up the ice last night.
When Philly scored their second goal, Coach Gallant had this look on his face that, to me, clearly said “holy shit; I don’t wanna have to take Fleury out of the first game of the season, not in the freaking 1st period ffs”.
When Philly scored their 3rd goal, Gallant’s facial expression said to me “holy fuck I might have to actually take Fleury out”.
When Philly scored their 4th goal, Gallant was stunned and forgot to take Fleury out.
When Philly scored their 5th goal, he finally had to remove his star goalie and thank Og Malcolm was solid.
The whole thing was terribly embarrassing, but at least we’ve got “lose the opening game the season at home” out of the way for the franchise, eh.
Other than that: the Knights just didn’t connect at all. Not with each other, not with passing, not with shots or positioning or hardly anything. I did like the hustle the team showed, but there was pretty much no cohesiveness at all; hopefully they’ll get that sorted in the next week or two.
Yeah that makes me feel even older than I actually am and I’m plenty old enough to be that guy’s father. In fact, I’m older than his father. 
God damn, I fucking hate hockey. It always interferes with the MLB playoffs at the start of their stupid season and the NBA playoffs at the end.

Oilers play a stinker against the Devils in Gothenburg Sweden. It seemed like the 83rd game of the 2017-2018 season. Out-played, out-hustled, lost all the one on one battles. And systems are bad - they just can’t move the puck up the ice as a unit. And when they are getting forechecked everybody panics and it looks like a clown car.
If I was in charge I would fire McLellan unless the team has a winning record at the end of the month.
That is a pretty harsh assessment, eh.
Don’t despair. I’m old enough to be his grandfather. I gave up playing pick-up hockey just about a quarter century ago at 45.
I’m thinking of starting a pool where you can bet on how many games the Oilers will play before they are literally unable to make the playoffs.

Oh, I’m thrilled that we have him on the team. I think he’s one of the up-and-coming goalies and I’m glad he’s got a chance to study behind Fleury, who has tons of experience at this level. Fleury isn’t perfect but he’s ddamned good and it’ll give Subban a chance to grow into his role. He’s got the raw talent and the athletic ability, he just needs the familiarity and perspective that experience brings to become a really great goalie.
8-5, 7-6 so far today? Did all four teams pull their goalies for the third?
Plus there was that weird 7-6 Capitals vs Penguins game a couple days ago, two teams that are pretty good.
Ok, I know it’s only 3 games in but I’m about ready for Fleury to sit down for a couple of months again. 
Coach Gallant has to be thinking “wtf is it with this team and goalies at the start of the season?”
Who put this schedule together? The Bruins play five games in eight days from Nov 10-17 flying from Boston to Denver to Dallas to Phoenix. Then 4 games in 6 days from Nov 21-26.
I’d guess there’s an event that takes over the arena in Boston for that road trip Nov 10-17. The Blackhawks used to have a circus trip when the circus was in town
