I was in and out of the game so I only saw goals 2, 4, 5, and 6. The ones that I saw were more the fault of defensive breakdowns than goalie mistakes. You simply can’t have players unchallenged in front of your net. Simple as that. Team USAs forwards had all the time they needed to put the puck where they wanted. There were no defensive players around them at all. That’s embarassing.

What are the odds on Slovakia winning tonight?
Yay! We have the silver in our pocketses. And they should be able to play real loose in the Gold game. They have already beaten expectations, and have proven they can beat the Canadians, so they have nothing to be tense about, and a hot goaltender.
This should be fun on Sunday. I expect Canada, but Slovakia has a nice roll, but man it would be sad for Hossa if he gets the bridesmaid prize three times in three years.

Great game Slovakia, I thought Demitra had scored with 7 seconds left.
If Slovakia hadn’t have played the trap for the first half of the game they might have taken it. Giving Canada time and space to move the puck is suicide.
Canada needs to up their game if they want to beat US. Another thing going for US men’s team is that they’re used to playing early games. I believe our goaltending hasn’t won us a game yet, we need a crazy super game from Luongo to match Miller. I really hope for Gold, but at least we got a silver for sure.
Oh, I did, too, before he even shot it.
The Gold Medal game is going to be one for the ages.
that one glove save made me happier about Luongo, but he still needs to carry the team on his shoulders if Canada wants to win gold.

I was sure that one was in too. But while it was closer than I’d have liked, it’s good they had to fight for it. I don’t think the Fins really did the US any favours by folding like that. There’s more lessons to be taken from a game like this, and hopefully tune things up properly tomorrow so they can come out Sunday like they did against Russia.
More lessons to be learned, but did they learn those lessons is the thing that bothers me the most.
crosby’s line did nothing of value. When is he gonna wake up from this mini slump? Iginla has 5 goals all from crap teams… When are they gonna step up when it matters more?
Crosby is setting them up; his linemates(especially Iginla) have got to finish. The only line that really has it going offensively is the Getzlaf line and that really worries me.
