NHL/Olympic Hockey: February 2010

I think I heard the same thing…

Wow!!! Great game!!!

Will they go to a shoot off for the medal if it stays tied for one period?

Fuck me. It is. Goddamnit.

ETA:

Yeah, if it’s tied after a full period it will go to a shootout.

Please hockey gods, don’t let this go to a shootout.

Gotta like the young legs of the Americans.

That won’t make much difference, I think. The problem is that 4-on-4 really neutralizes both Canada’s forecheck and their cycle game. I hate 4-on-4 OT.

Yup 4 on 4 sudden death (a.k.a. golden goal :D).

I have to say that I’ve ignored the Winter Olympics (except for watching the opening ceremonies) but am watching this game live, which has been great. You can’t imagine a better ending for the Olympics than this.

Rats!

Well, not the outcome I was hoping for.

But it was an exciting game.

Congratulations, Canada!

Gold! Double Gold! Women’s and Men’s Hockey!

I’m guessing the people criticizing Sid for his lack of points are going to shut up now.

Boo Canada!

Way to go, guys! Very proud of you!

Heartbeat returning to normal now…

It’s just like Salt Lake City all over again. I think I actually heard the cheer across the entire city.

Best 2 out of 3?

Good job, Canada. We were terrible in the overtime and you deserve it.

Ah, none of that!

Let’s offer them a laurel, and hardy handshake.

Aw, first loser isn’t that bad.

Hey, no one lost ahead of us.

Yay?

Hey, now!

I’m not sure I’d know what to do with a laurel, but I’d sure know what to do with a cold Canadian-brewed beer to celebrate. Cheers, Johnny–thanks!
