Back-story:
Son #1 lost his DS, with New Super Mario Bros cartridge in it… he was on World 8
Son #2 has his own DS with New Super Mario Bros cartridge. File 1 is his, file 2 is mine, on World 8.
We are purchasing a new DS and new copy of New Super Mario Bros.
Question:
Is there any way to copy File #2 from Son #2’s DS to the new DS? I fear the answer is “no” or “not legally” but thought it was worth asking.
Oh jeesh, the answer is “yes” but it’s way out of the scope of this. Playing the worlds over will be easier, maybe if he was close to 100% completion and had to do it over again, in case you’re curious it basically involves special hardware and something loading “homebrew” apps to the DS which basically involves putting apps on your DS that aren’t supported by Nintendo (not necessarily a bad thing, but only really for the suitably hardcore).
This Action Replay also can manage game saves for a lot less headache if you want, but be warned that wonky things can happen with ARs. (It’s only really a matter of deleting all altered data, in this case game saves, to fix, it’s not permanently destructive but some truly odd stuff can happen like making the game crash during gameplay until the you delete the offending save). I have one, but I’ve never gotten the PC app you probably need to work properly in Vista 64-bit, so if you have that OS you may be SOL.
