Nissan: screw the force, Luke

So, Nissan is apparently the official car company of the Rebellion/Republic or something. Fine, Lucas can make his money any way he wants/can.

However, in this commercial, the young driver/padowan is basically told by Dad/Obi-wan to turn on the targetting computer, and not trust herself/the Force.

Has on one in the ad agency seem the movie?

We aren’t all Jedi, Folacin. For those of us who aren’t, there’s the all new Nissan Rogue Propilot Assist system, available only on 2018 models.

Does Lucas get any revenue from Star Wars related merchandising now that Disney owns the franchise?

He might still get some residuals, but I’m pretty sure he doesn’t have any say in how Disney markets the brand.

I say if you can’t drive, you shouldn’t be on the fucking road.

Well, that would surely solve a large part of our commute congestion problems. Already it seems a lot of drivers are trying to Use the Force.

This is still the low-point in Disney merchandising.

I think a large percentage of the Lucasfilm purchase was bought with Disney stock so the continuing success of Star Wars will enrich George Lucas’ portfolio.

That makes me long for the simple joys of the Christmas Special. I really hate Disney sometimes.

I clicked the link in the OP, I’ll never get that time back and I’m not clicking the link in Uosdwis R. Dewoh’s post.
As far advertising people selling anything resembling what production is actually tooled for or producing, when has that happened?
I second the notion posted by swampspruce

Orange you glad they weren’t Bananas?

You came in that thing? You’re braver than I thought.
