We don’t even know why his kids were removed. Although he’s obviously a lunatic and teaching his children reprehensible beliefs that are not compatible with living a semi-functional life in society. So I have no doubt that there is sufficient reason, but I’m sure there is plenty we don’t know also. I think I also read that there was something about domestic violence?
And yeah he was almost certainly raised by horrible parents himself. Hopefully now his kids will now have a chance to break the cycle of being totally fucked up.
Can’t we do both? If I knew his background I might be able to empathize and help him try to get past it while still condemning his actions and supporting the ruling that removes his children.
Actually there is very little ‘science’ that says, being abused as a child, makes you a child abuser. It’s actually very wrong of you to say this, basically you are saying those kids are hopeless cases. They are not. Even you in your post say you are amazed that we all aren’t hopelessly bent. Because most people get through it. This man has something wrong with him. It’s probably a combination of nature and nurture.
But stop saying child abuse caused child abuse. It’s wrong and if you think it’s true, I’m going to ask for a cite.
Because at a certain point when you become an adult you are responsible for your own actions regardless of your childhood. My sympathy for you ends when you start being shitty to other people.
In New Jersey child welfare cases are sealed and the courtroom is not open to the press. But DCF has stated that the children were not removed due to ther names or his political beliefs. It has gone through so many layers and in front of enough judges that I am convinced they have a strong case.
When I first saw Campbell in person he was wearing tan pants and a tan Dickey shirt with black tie tucked in. He had some badges and emblems in black and red but no swaztikas. The outfit gave the impression of nazi without being overt. At the time he was just claiming to be interested in the era but said he wasn’t a Nazi. Now you can see he has gone all in. He is reveling in the attention. But I don’t think he realizes most people are laughing at him.
And of course it all started from him when he complained to the press about the birthday cake.
I didn’t say that there is a known single cause of child abuse. Nor did I say that this man or his children are incurable.
But if you have been abused as child it’s far more likely that you will suffer from brain changes that will contribute to various health problems in the future including abusing your own children.
And rightly so I think. But I never asked for sympathy for that man. I asked for understanding of the wide scope of child abuse in the hopes that it prevents us, the observers, from catching a case of the mean just by reading about it.
Have you ever read a case about someone being murdered or harmed in a horrible way and then the thread is filled with people who want to skin the perpetrator alive and mention all other kinds of unspeakable things they’d like to do to him? That’s the same kind of malicious thinking that breeds abuse. Ironic and scary.
If anything understanding should contribute to developing habits in all of us that will make us better persons ourselves, don’t you think?
and here another study that says yes there can be a generational passing but it is mitigated by the condition of said family. If the family was primarily when the family environment was conflictual, uncohesive and unexpressive, then the abuse was more easily passed. (i think that’s what they mean) but if those evironmental things were different in the second generation then the abuse was less likely.

Heath Campbell has lost yet another appeal to get his children back. Knowing how quick local courts and DCPP are to return children to families or at the very least give supervised visitation, I am pretty certain that the case must be strong. Well beyond his political beliefs or what he named his children,
