Don’t tell me you came into this world alone and you will go out of this world alone.
Unless your mother dropped an egg somewhere and walked away and never looked back your did NOT come into this world alone.
Who do you think gave birth to you?
It’s a slap in your mother’s face to say you came in alone. Do you think she had no participation in your birth. She carried you for 9 months and went through hours of pain to bring your ungrateful ass into this world.
More than likely your father was there, and maybe even your grandparents, siblings, aunts and uncles. Doctors, nurses, midwives? Even in the most primitive of cultures someone is there to help the mother.
As a newborn you would not have survived more than a few hours on your own. That fact that you are here, standing and breathing in front of me means you were not alone.
If you go out on your own you have nobody to blame but your own damn self and with that attitude you probably will.
Seriously, people that don’t have the balls to take a bunch of people with them when they go deserve nothing but scorn. I plan on my death making a pretty serious dent in the population of my hometown.
i got no mom or dad
prom night dumpster baby
my story isn’t long but boy it’s awfully sad
although i came from a hole
(although i came from a hole)
i’m singin right from the soul
('im singin right from the soul)
my fanny needs a blanket
and somebody to spank it
i miss my mom
but shes at the prom
so i’m a prom night dumpster baby
prom night dumpster baby
and i’m takin a stroll
(he’s taking a stroll)
i’m takin a stroll
(he’s taking a stroll)
The OP is referencing a quote that appears (at first Google) to be a from Emily Carr. I think it’s a dumb quote too. If you live your life totally alone, maybe the problem isn’t life.
Quote quoted for truth. Seriously, outside of bad movies, when and where have you heard this particularly drecky cliche? Did you reply with the equally ridiculous “I brought you into this world and I can take you out!”?
And I think you’re right, come to think of it. Being that babies don’t even learn of their own identities until around age 2 (more or less), they come into this world as one with everything.
And no I didn’t answer with I brought you into the world because I didn’t bring them into the world.
I feel sorry for their mothers that they would say something so disrespectful.
Well, to start with, not personally? If it’s not your own offspring saying it to you, why are you letting it piss you off? Without context, nobody here knows what the devil you’re talking about.
You know, I always took that saying, hamfisted as it is, to mean that the world owes you nothing, and it’s also a warning that you can’t take your relationships with you when you die, so you’d better not leave any loose ends.
