The Flatland bit was DEAD ON.
And sadly, it seems to be the best world for Sheldon to go to.
Sadder still, I could explain to my parents the joke.
Solid episode tonight.
One wonders if Sheldon will ever get a clue. He’s had his chance.

Wingman!
It’s always good to see Danica McKellar!
Yeah, it’s one thing to make a Flatland joke, but they nailed the details, too.
I couldn’t really believe that Sheldon didn’t already have a Linux partition.
And it’s now official, I have less of a social life than any of them.
“Hulk sad.”
I LOVE how they had Danica guest star. She’s some math Ph.D right now. Maybe they need to do a episode with Mayim Bialk too!!
Her website says she only has a BA in math.
Bialk completed her PHD in 2008 in neuroscience
It was good to see the alternate pairings–Penny & Leonard with Wolowitz and Sheldon with Raj instead of the standard other way around.
Green Lantern Lantern! Hulk gloves signed by Stan Lee!
Had no idea that was Winnie! She looked so short! Always had kinda a thing for her way back when …
The psychic said the Penny would get a national commercial if she cut her hair, so why didn’t she cut it? Perhaps she doesn’t believe as completely as she said.
B.S.
So Raj can talk to women now? I know he had a drink first, but he seemed much more relaxed about it than he normally written - what gives?
I wondered that too, but recall the episode when he was applying for a new job in a different department, found he was going to be working with a woman, slugged a shot of booze and immediately made an ass of himself. Booze has an immediate effect on him. He was also taking to nerd women who speak fluent comic book-eze.
The effect is purely psychological. He was able to talk to Summer Glau while drinking a beer, until Howard pointed out that it was non-alcoholic.
That seems a bit rude.

He made an ass of himself after the second shot. First one breaks the ice. Second one brings it down on his head.
I only saw the last few minutes (my wife and I were watching the 2nd season premiere of True Blood on demand) but what I saw was solid. However, I am very disappointed that I missed Danica McKellar. She’s purty.
But Raj was drinking before at the party, the first time all four of them got together and I guess you could assume that Raj had a few drinks before the ladies came over or that he’s only nervous about girls he knows nothing of?
I thought it was another solid, funny episode also. Good things - the recognition that girls can be geeks; the Hulk hands. Penny had some good lines. I hope they keep Leonard & Penny together despite their differences. I don’t know why, but I like them together, and many irrational pairing work out in real life (as well as many that fail). I know many fans don’t think they have chemistry, but I do.

He still can’t talk in front of Penny, so we’d have to assume he had a drink before the girls showed up at Sheldon’s apartment.
Has anyone taken the time to explain reproductive strategy to Sheldon? He really should be getting his superior genes out there in the population.
Drat - forget to say I loved the “Flatland” reference!
I knew I recognized the girl as soon as I saw her. Just didn’t know where. I thought “Holy crap…thats Winnie!!!” and The Dope confirmed it.
Otherwise…just a so-so episode, but you win some you lose some so I’m not complaining.
Props to the casting director for finding two girls who look a lot alike.
