I used to be into Black Sabbath long ago. I decided I wanted a blast from the past, so went to buy their albums on Itunes. nothing. Hmm, I thought, but not unheard of, maybe they have no deal with Apple. But it’s not just Apple. There is no place to purchase mp3’s of their classic original albums, anywhere. Why on earth would that be? What a huge loss of potential revenue-- looking on you tube, they are still quite popular. Is this a common thing with bands? And what is the strategy behind it?
I see several Black Sabbath albums for sale as mp3s on amazon.
Or just find the CDs and make your own MP3s.
Don’t know about Sabbath specifically, but some bands (particularly older ones) have been slow to embrace advances in technology and still have not released their music in digital form.
There is a lot of sabbath, but nothing of their first 7 albums, which are also by far their most known and popular. I could get the cd but I want it now, tomorrow, probably wil forget all about it.
Here is their second album, Paranoid, available on mp3 from Amazon UK. If it’s not available where you are, it’s a local thing.
“In my day people’s random sudden cravings lasted for weeks, dammit!”
You can’t get Bob Seger mp3s anywhere. Not from iTunes, Amazon, nor Rhapsody. They have Bob Seger cover recordings, but no original recordings. He’s one artist who you definitely have to make your own mp3s off CD.
