I don’t hate football, but the only football I watch is the Packers. I have a hard time watching a game where I don’t care about the teams.
With the “wardrobe malfunction” backlash, the ads are going to be way tamer than usual. It is possible that they can be tame and good, (the Frito Lay ad with MC Hammer is pretty good.) (and godaddy.com did manage to get in an ad that makes fun of last year)
I will probably have it on while I do stuff on the computer (surfing, coding, maybe some gaming)
I think I’ll watch the halftime show, because I hear they have a real musician this year. Someone who actually plays instruments, and has written his own songs, or something. But it’s only the commercials that usually interest me, and even those weren’t great last year. I have homework to catch up on, so maybe I’ll be doing some of that.
Nope. We don’t get the expensive commercials here–they slide in ads for Zellers and Canadian Tire, instead. If we got a straight US feed, that’d be a different story.
I will check and watch the half-time show, though, if I remember. We did that last year. My husband rolled his eyes, but watched it, too.
Ended up going to see Million Dollar Baby with a friend – the theater was pretty empty. Then we hung out watching a rerun of the national figure-skating championship – ESPN’s counter-programing.
They did update the score as a scroll across the bottom of the screen a few times.
On Saturday we drove out to Orlando and spent a few hours at Epcot Center. We have some friends that live in Celebration, a community planned by Disney, and they met us at the park for dinner and then we went back to their house to spend the night. On Sunday morning we went to Disney’s Animal Kingdom, which is sort of a cross between an amusement park and a zoo.
About 2 pm we left and decided to head back to our friends’ house. We could have gone over to another park (we have passes) but decided it would be nice to go to their annual touch football game and party, as they were gracious enough to allow us to stay with them.
Big mistake on my part. While playing touch football I pulled my left hamstring, which I now know is a very painful injury. It’s still very tender and feels like it might be that way for a while. So I limped back to their place, iced my leg, and sat in a corner reading Ender’s Game. Good book. I did occasionally glance up to watch a replay, but mostly just noshed and read and felt sorry for my old, breakable self. I wish we’d gone over to MGM or Magic Kingdom, or just gone home.
