No Ugly Betty 11/8 Thread? Spoilers Ahead

I thought the bit with Bradford having the heart attack and people watching was poignant, but spoiled by the preview showing him alive the following week. That should’ve left people wondering.

And Daniel being holier-than-thou about Betty not telling him about the bodyguard - it’s not like he’s never kept something from her.

And Henry is hot with his hair tousled and just getting up. I didn’t recognize Mark’s new guy when he walked into the wedding. How’d he make his hair not-curly?

Transit museum!

Amanda doing “Milkshake” in the middle of St. Patrick’s Cathedral (with organ accompaniment) was priceless.

Anyone think Stewart is running a scam on Christina? raises hand

AWWWW! Marc’s jealous about his average-man! So sweeeet!

Awesome Amanda line “Transfattie…more than meets the eye…” although I don’t think Amanda would ever have come close enough to actually speaking to a geek to ever recognize or remember an 80s action figure/cartoon tagline.

jayjay - Yep - I forgot all about Christina and Stewart, and yep, scam-city. I didn’t recognize the action-figure line - I wonder how many heads it flew over. Is it from Transformers?

StG

Yes. The old Transformers cartoon theme (and I think the blister packs for the toys) had the line “More than meets the eye”. It seemed kind of out of character for Amanda, but it was still awesome.

Well, “More than Meets the Eye” was used in some promotional material for the recent Transformers movie, so that could explain it.

And Henry is hot with his hair tousled and just getting up.

No joke. I think the actor playing Henry is smoking hot in real life, but they way they do his character up on the show does nothing for me. It was nice to see him without the plastic-looking hair and huge glasses.

Marc and his glee over showing off his boyfriend were too cute.

Especially with the organ for accompaniment. And speaking of St. P’s- the priest- Bud Cort- it has been one long hard road since Harold & Maude hasn’t it?

Yeah. That’s totally a smack needle and he needs cash and found a cover that covered both.

I’m not familiar with the actor who plays Cliff, but he’s a total cutie when he cleans up, isn’t he? (Now don’t be a Will & Grace pussy, ABC, and show them in bed.)

Something I don’t understand about Henry: just because “she’s having your baby”, why do you have to move back in with her? You could either take Betty with you when you go back to Arizona, or just not go back to Arizona and work out a shared custody agreement, or just keep giving the baby paternity tests until you find one that says what you want it to, or… (can you really give an unborn baby a paternity test?)

I shouldn’t give this spoiler but I will: my barber has a cousin who knows somebody whose stepson does the catering to the writers on the show, and he says that Betty’s probably not going to stay fired.

Marc: We’re gay! There’s no such thing as just friends!
[Boomhauer]Dang ol funny cause it’s true bro…

In the scenes from next week, Daniel was saying he wanted her to come back and she was saying she wasn’t sure. Somehow, I think she will return.

I don’t get that about Henry either. There are a lot of ways that this could work out. I’m hoping she’ll leave Henry for Gio, though. Love the Gio!!

He’s still hot, but not as hot as when he was scruffy. I <purr>liked</purr> him scruffy…but then I’m a bear, and while my tastes tend to be pretty catholic, I like other bears a whole lot.

Cliff: He’s straight!

Marc: Oh! A straight model! Well, I guess the whole world is just upside-down!

You forgot the sarcasm smiley.

I must have missed an episode, or part of one. Betty caught Willie with the bodyguard but promised not to tell anyone if Willie would help Ignacio?

I’ll be disappointed if Stewart turns out to be lying, because it’s so obvious. I’d like it better if he really was sick and Christina does something risky to get him the money. Plus, Christina’s a smart cookie – she’d ask to see some proof of his illness, and check out whatever treatment he’s getting.

From the previews, it looks like there will be a hospital bed wedding. (I almost typed wetting.) Any chance that Willie will decide that she really loves Bradford? Or would that be too obvious?

We have one of those?!

That’s right. Betty agreed to stay silent about Willie doing the deed with the bodyguard in exchange for Ignacio coming back to the U.S. In this episode, Betty tells Hilda, who tells their father, about the deal made with Wilhemina.

When Ignacio finds out, he tells Betty that she must tell Daniel the truth. (Daniel saw the bodyguard coming out of Willie’s apartment and goes to his father–however, with no proof, he can’t convince his father not to marry her.) By this point, Ignacio is already a citizen. (This episode featured his citizenship ceremony.) So with Ignacio safe, Betty goes to Daniel, tells him what she knows–and he gets angry with her for staying silent for four months and fires her.

You’re right…it would be too obvious. I’m hoping that maybe she’ll suspect him and then he’ll turn out to be really sick. I hope he doesn’t get killed off–we’ve already had to lose one really cute love interest!

Stewart is adorable. I hope he’s not scamming, but I’m not holding my breath.

Did anyone else get an ominous chill down their spine when they seemed to emphasize that Ignacio would be there for Betty in April when her heart gets broken? Bradford’s not the only one on this show with a heart condition.

Don’t even think about it! I was in tears in all of Betty and Ignacio’s scenes this week (finally watched it tonight) – we’d all be wrecks if something happened to him!!

Daniel ticked me off. It’s not like he hasn’t kept secrets from people. And Alexis – she knows Willie wants the magazine and she plotted with her last season to get it – why doesn’t she tell Bradford? She has her memory back, doesn’t she?

Anyone know how many more new episodes before the strike affects Betty?

zoggie, thanks! Does :dubious: work for sarcasm?
