Could it be that you are looking in the wrong state? You could try one with a population, for instance.
Due to the nearby airbase, the ration of single males to single females is skewed in favor of the females. The local single female population is aware of this, and still manages to pick the jerks, even with all that selection.
Go fig.

Why do you people insist on scolding me? I’ve done nothing wrong!
BTW, techie, my guess is that if you worked in an office your odds might be better. Then again, many men are made timid by ravishing beauty . . . this is one problem with being attractive.
I don’t see what your problem is. John seems like a likeable enough guy, even though he is fairly conservative and Republican-y.
Oh.
You said Colorado. Nevermind. Carry on.
Hmm, I was already looking for a reason to move to Colorado. So that’s it then. Now I just need to find a job…
Techie, if the demographics of Colorado are anything like those of the nation as a whole, most of the surplus of women over men is to be found in retirement communities.
So the numbers don’t hurt your chances, and they don’t help the single men here - unless they’re over 65, or are looking for feminine companionship in that age bracket.
Techie, you didn’t specify if you were looking for submissive little boot lickers or not. Not that a fine lady like you isn’t worth of such attention if a fella is so inclined. It’s just that the odds get worse when you take those guys out of the pool. Hmm, don’t even recall you wearing boots in vegas.
That would be a great sig line. As it is, Techie, I’m adding that to my Quote List… the first SDMB quote to make it onto there! Congratulations!
(By the way, if you’re willing to pay for my room and board, I can be there in a week. Imagine having your own young’un for a pet…)
Just trying to point out that it could always be worse…
Baloo:
I live in Colorado Springs, here we have Shriever Air Force Base (was CSOC), Peterson Air Force Base, Ft. Carson Army Post, NORAD and the Air Force Academy. No offense to any of our armed forces Dopers but I am not interested in dating a military man – I prefer to stay in Colorado.
drop, I love Colorado and wouldn’t consider living anywhere else, it’s my birthplace and my family is here.
Padeye:
I assume you think we are a bunch of ranching bumpkins here? Nope, in fact we have a very large amount of high tech firms here in the front range of Colorado. In fact Intel is on it’s way in to C Springs, we had a huge Apple plant here and Compaq has a major facility located here as well.
Me? If I knew what Mr. Semi-Perfect was to be I probably would have snagged him by now. LOL
SPOOFE, if I used sigs regularly, that would be a good one!
Make our job IMPOSSIBLE, why doncha!
Male population, 1998 estimate 1,968,174
Female population, 1998 estimate 2,002,797 (and one of 'em is Techchick!)
<mouse clatters to the floor as Balance sprints out the door–he’s on his way to Colorado!>
Come on to up to Summit County. There’s something like 65% men here.
A word of warning though - The odds are good, but the goods are odd.
