Trump is now blaming Denmark not giving him the Nobel Prize as justification to take over Greenland.
He has been babbling about Greenland since last year so this is just another lie.

So he’s essentially admitting that his “thinking of peace” was never sincere, but rather a ploy to get a Nobel. I mean, we all knew that, but this is an outright admission.
The Secretary of the Treasury Scott Bessent was on Meet the Press yesterday supporting the president’s argument that it’s necessary that the US acquire Greenland. I can’t imagine what he’s thinking, having to defend this ridiculous idea. Normally, he would be the adult in the room.
I know the members of this administration have been chosen specifically for their unquestioning, toadying loyalty to trump, but I have to wonder if any of them ever lie awake at night thinking “what am I doing supporting this maniac?”.
Does that mean Trump will give the U.S. Virgin Islands back to Denmark?
This sounds like a Veep plot line that they rejected for being too stupid. Maybe if they promise him next year’s prize he’ll shut the fuck up. They gave one to Kissinger, after all.
I very much doubt that Henry Kissinger ever campaigned for the Nobel Peace Prize, especially not as openly as Trump is doing.

Considering your Country decided not to give me the Nobel Peace Prize for having stopped 8 Wars PLUS, I no longer feel an obligation to think purely of Peace, although it will always be predominant, but can now think about what is good and proper for the United States of America. Denmark cannot protect that land from Russia or China, and why do they have a “right of ownership” anyway? There are no written documents, it’s only that a boat landed there hundreds of years ago, but we had boats landing there, also. I have done more for NATO than any other person since its founding, and now, NATO should do something for the United States. The World is not secure unless we have Complete and Total Control of Greenland.

I’ve never seen an issue split so cleanly along the moron/not moron divide as this Greenland thing. Crosses partisan and national lines as something only complete and utter imbeciles could ever possibly support.
Like, even vaguely smart Trump supporters are like “Yeah, it’d be cool if we could have Greenland but doing it this way is still totally insane”. Literally the only people in favor of this are Trump, and people who think Catturd is funny. That’s it.
You beat me to it. Denmark, Norway, and the Netherlands are completely separate countries. People mix and match them all the time and it drives me nuts and makes it harder to follow the news.

I’m sure the ones that have two brain cells to rub together are fully aware that the guy is a dementia-addled ass clown. They just don’t care. They’re absolutely craven for power, especially Vance and Rubio. I have no doubt that they would literally throw their own mothers under a bus, if it would give them an edge in securing power.
What keeps them up at night is not their complacency in enabling this asshole. What keeps them up is the fate of Mike Pence, a guy who spent much of his time in office enthusiastically smooching the orange rump, only to be cast into political irrelevance the second he dared to defy his master.
