No rain here yet, dammit. It all seems to be to the north and west. It’s overcast, but that’s not good enough. dammit.
I’ve got a load of clothes in the washer and I think I’ll make a peach cake later. Because I can.

Yeah. When I say I don’t do things by halves, it apparently includes tongue-biting too. urrgh.
I’m wondering if I should see a doctor about it. Although, admittedly, my tongue looks a little bit less disgusting today than yesterday. (I will spare everyone the details of what my tongue looked like.) For now, I’m just trying to leave things alone as much as possible and waiting to see if the healing continues.
Howdy Y’all! Home from deheathenization. We stopped by LJS and got comesibles to go came home and et ‘em. I ended up not havin’ ush duty as the person I was subbin’ for showed up and said his son, DIL, and grandson went home earlier this mornin’ due to the fact that grandson was not feelin’ well, bless his heart in the good way. So I plopped down in the pew next to OYKW. Now it’s chill time. It’s waaaaaaaaaaaay hawt outside so bein’ inside is good. Nappage will most likely ensue.
Midget glad you’re tongue is feelin’ better today. Dr. Swampington Bear recommends copious amount of ice cream to aid in healin’.
You have clothes to go out on the line, and you complain of no rain.
You would complain if you were hanged with a new rope, dammit!
:dubious:
I have no clothes on the line - I knew it was supposed to rain so I did the dryer today. And while I was just making the peach cake, it did rain, for about 3 minutes. Then more sun. Stoopit weather.
Forecast dropped from 100% to 80% to, now 50% chance of rain, and only 10% tonight, where it had been 80%. Totally unsatisfactory.
And I’m not holding out a lot of hope for the peach cake. The peaches, which have been sitting out a week to ripen, were hard on the inside. We’ll see how well they bake up.
Nappage has been achieved. We had a little rain shower and it looks like we could get some more but it looks like scattered showers so it’ll be hit or miss. Oh well, that’s life.
We got some rain, finally. Still a chance for more tonight - we shall see.
Thus endeth the weekend…
Did my quarterly Oscar Meyer Brausweiger run up to Evansville (about a 4-hr drive). Rained like heck when I left, but once past Nashville it got progressively nicer, and there was no rain coming back. Actually listened to a whole baseball game on the radio for the first time in quite a while (Cardinals thumped the Phillies 9-0).
Anyway, lunch is set until Thanksgiving, when I go visit my brother in St. Louis and replenish stockage.
And that’s all the excitement hereabouts for a Sunday.
The peach cake was pretty good, altho I used a wee bit too much nutmeg. Wish we’d had some melty ice cream to go with it.
So it rained like crazy this morning. I went to Starbucks for the elixir of life, deheathenized at Weight Watchers (lost 2 lbs. this week!), and breakfasted on cheesy eggs with toast and fruit. Breakfast was followed by severe flakage.
My Facebook feed reminded me that the Shippensburg Corn Festival is this weekend. This is a one-day street festival that is focused on corn. There’s a lot of non-corn food available, and crafts and stuffs. It’s nice to get out for the day and eat corn and see things. Or eat corn and eat more corn, as the sprog is wont to do.
We fed our inner seven year old boys tonight. Grilled cheese and pepperoni sammiches, milk, and for dessert ice cream. Two happy seven year old boys!
ETA: First on Six!
Hugs to all of you who have had a crappy week.
The family has been reuned for the year and I am back in Tennessee until Christmas or another road trip.
Sweet dreams y’all!
All that dairy in one meal?!
I need to get a little dinner and then get the trash ready to go out.
I ordered a mess of flowers/herbs today, they won’t ship until mid September though.
I ordered two patchouli plants for in the house.
I have a few little antique jars, Ink wells maybe? They were left behind in the house I lived in in Baltimore. Sah-son broke one today, it got caught in the vacuum cord.
I missed a call from my friend and that has me a little worried. The service for her brother (the one killed in the police standoff) was today, I hope she is okay. She called me three times, but I was in the shower. Tried calling her back but no answer.
the end of another Mump is upon us. If there aren’t any when I awake, I’ll start it
Work, work picnic ----- I am way behind on my Dope. Something I am always careful to avoid saying in front of HR.
Arm still hurts and is swollen here and there but its slowly getting better. Back to Siberian Salt Mines local #419 tomorrow.
(Actually we’re non-union and I’m the only Siberian in the building. But still -------- ya know what I mean)

I worked. The floor crew never showed ,so I had to work extra for nothing. On the bright side, dinner is poke chops with Penzy’s Bavarian seasoning, sweet tater, and broccoli with pepper and garlic. And more Oktoberfest beer for appetizer, dessert ,and cocktail.
Moooommmm!, I got sprinkles on the way home. On the bright side, it dropped the temp 20 degrees, and the humidity 30%
Glad the tongue is better today, Midget.
Night, red! and glad you’re back!
