Nobody likes slobs in the MMP!!

{{{{{hugs}}}}} to everyone.

It may take more than that. I already tried singing it show tunes and playing a Bette Midler album.

Actually at the very end of the night Facilities got it fixed. Just after the last box was finished. :smack:

Not quite as bad as that. At my pay-scale/grade there is no such thing as paid time off for anything. No paid vacation, no paid sick days, no nothing. What you get is 20 hours of UPT (unpaid) every quarter and you can bank up to 80 hours. When that is used up you get released/fired. You can reapply after 30 days but most folks just say screw it and are never seen again. After all, its basically part time and can be a demanding job sometimes. And most people just don’t like it that much. Last summer I knew I was going to go in the hole so I resigned and reapplied. I don’t really like to complain about the policy very much ---- we are told about all this up front when we first apply so its no surprise. What I do complain about is how it seems HR will sit on a bunch of these and then can everyone at once. THAT is what makes what little hair I have left stand on end.

Happy Hump Day!

It’s not as hot today as it has been. It’s only 83 outside.

Nothing special going on so SSDD

ruble, much thanks for the information above. I worked for the Government for 35 years so always had paid annual and sick leave (as long as I stayed in the limits). I guess perhaps that left me a blind spot for how ‘real-life’ jobs can be.

Still haven’t done anything. Considering either cleaning the kitchen or going back to bed. Retired life is fun.

You are not attractive and your Mother dresses you in an unusual manner.
:dubious:

doggio, you can cook and clean at my house anytime as long as you leave the spice rack alone.

Mooooom, the WiFi is for the surly teenagers that you leave in the car. :stuck_out_tongue:

Getting things done today, which is a good thing, as I’m taking off Friday to head north for the family reunion. I got in some studio time last evening and made two cards that I’d sketched the design for while the studio was down. At this rate, I may have more cards for sale online before the new year, or at least before the heavy sales season of Valentine’s day.

Why are you reading us what’s on your mirror?

Figuratively, of course. No one is shooting at me yet. I had a biopsy last week on female parts and blood tests to rule out bad stuff on my ovaries and all that came back NORMAL. Very relieved. Getting old is not for sissies.

Jealously does not become you, flytrap…

I should be up doing things around the house but I’m not.

My stomach has been hurting since I woke up and I feel ick.

Butters yay for normal test results!

Today I did manage to go to Da Burg. Also got in some quality cee-mint pond time. Chikin is stayin’ warm in the slow cooker. In a little while the rest of dindin shall be prepared. Until then, chillage ensues.

Retirement life… it’s a good thing!

I want to retire :frowning:

I have no interest in cooking dinner. I don’t even feel like eating. OMG, I must be sick.

Late Blurf.

The more I hear about You Ess holiday rules, the more scared I get. It don’t matter here what pay grade you’re on, they have to give you paid time off (well, the securitatin’ comp’ny never did, but they were, shall we say, somewhat dodgy).

I’s orfe on a circussy juggling trip in the morning, driving two hippies down at crack o’dawn®
Bets on them actually being ready for 7 when I said I’d be there…

Home. I got FCD’s boxes of stuff out of the truck and on to shelves. Then I chunked up cantaloupe and watermelon. **FCD **is having leftovers for supper and I don’t know what I’m going to have - maybe just some melon.

Over the hump - it’s all downhill to the weekend. WOOHOO!!!

Dindin got ingested followed by other things I shall not mention. I suggest you use your imagination. It did involve the absence of any and all attire.

Now ‘tis chill time. OYKW had an early start to the day and is exhausted, poor thing. He’s upon the bed watchin’ teevee. He was kinda noddin’ off when I was in there a couple of minutes ago so I’m bettin’ sleepage descents shortly.

frulb
which basically means it’s time to go to sleep (for me, anyway)

rosie I’m real close to sleepy time myself. I’m feelin’ tahrd and all yawny.

Now you’re just being shocking :roll eyes:
Movers have been here since 9 am. I think everything is out of the trailers/truck/whatever it is/they are. Now we need a bunch o’ stuff moved around to the appropriate location. I’d like at least some of it done tonight. The rest might just have to wait until a different day this week when the burly young men can return and finish. In my younger days I would have flashed my pearly whites gleam and said, “I’ll take it from here!” Ha. HA, I say. Not happening. Nope. I’m older. Yes. Let’s go with that. Older and I will be letting stronger backs than mine haul things up the stairs.

On other fun notes, we haz sold the house. We’re in contract and the only contingency is that it appraises for the sale price, so we should be good. Escrow closes September 8.

It isn’t a real-life job ------ it’s that place-that-will-remain-nameless.

There is a book out there called “The Anything Store” about our founder and the company. I recommend it highly to one and all. If you understand some of the background, what we do and why its done almost makes sense.

Speaking of which we have a couple late trucks so 9k of our volume is rolling over into tomorrow which is predicted high in and of itself. I was asked if I had a double in me and said yes. Will I ever learn? :smack: Actually it could be one of those “I was there” days and I like those. So what the heck – in for a penny in for a pound.
