So, doggio, how do you arrange the ground chilis and the flaked ones? :dubious:
Yay, sunny on having the house sold!
I’m trying to wrap up stuff here, since I’ll be on the road north tomorrow. I have to do the grocery shopping this evening, as I won’t be home until Sunday evening to do much around the house.
Say what now? I could have flashed something (wink), back in teh day, and asked them to keep working, but that would be crass, and my mama raised me better. In any case, back in those days all my stuff used to fit in my car. Come to think of it, the boys did show up to help me move and I didn’t need to show anything inappropriate. So there.
Home, fed, tahred. I stopped at WalMart on the way home for a few items, and strangely enough, a red velvet cake ended up among my purchases - can you imagine???
My supper was a cheeseburger sans bread, a 'mater sammich, and water. Cake later.
Howdy Y’all! Dindin has been ingested. We both ordered St. Louis style ribs at Sonny’s with sweet N.O.T, baked beans, and cornbread. I couldn’t finish my ribs and was gonna bring 'em to da cave but OYKW was still hongry so he finished 'em up. He had a busy day and didn’t get time to have N.O.L. poor thing.
And that’s the news from swampland. Chillage ensues.
What is this retirement everyone is talking about?
I’ll probably have to work until at least seventy.
Guess what I’m going to be doing, starting the first week in September? I’m going to start a class in New Testament Greek. Just ordered the textbook, and boy, that take me back to my college days. One forgets those suckers can be expensive! The class will be taught at the Lutheran church I grew up at. The current pastor is a real scholar, my mom says sometimes, for fun, he writes his sermons in Greek and translates into English. I’m going to let a few folks in my own congregation know about this class.
How do I get myself into these things? A friend needed some assistance, I said sure, why not, and now what was going to be a roughly three hour gig has mushroomed into nearly twelve hours, end to end.
Oh that’s right, I’m a member of Volunon. At least I have someone to look after the dog.
I’m looking for a full-time job. I’m okay financially for the moment, but I do need a day job sometime soon… it’s too early for me to even think about retirement.
Of course, I’m one of the sort-of-younger generation. Actually, I’m at kind of an awkward age - too old to be young, and too young to be old.
I like warm weather, but 104 heat indexes and smog make me all wheezy. On the bright side, dinner is Asian BBQ chicken, green tea rice, and stir fired bok choy ,'shrooms, and broccoli.
OO! OO! Me, too!
I can retire right now, and live comfortably for the rest of my life. Assuming I’m eaten by wolves within five minutes of my retirement.
It wasn’t as expensive as I thought. His math class had two books listed, but he only had to buy one of them.
He did TacoHell for lunch, I got something at McD’s.
I was going to make hamburgers for dinner, but he’s sleeping and I’m not hungry, so it can wait until tomorrow.
I’m cutting back on the tomato sandwiches. After I ate one yesterday my throat started getting scratchy and my lips got tingly.
Cooked tomatoes don’t seem to bother me but sometimes too many raw ones will. I used to get welts on my arms from picking tomatoes, especially if the leaves were wet.
Work was brutal but fun; I got to spend the morning scanning in the Leper Colony (lane C) and the afternoon doing Trailer Docking. I am all done in but we DID IT and customer satisfaction WILL be met.
I’ve made the promise before, but if I win the lottery we’re going to have the Dopefest to end all Dopefests.
I’d reserve rooms for everyone, even a meeting room. Meals would be on me. There’s no perfect location, so it would be in my home, Topeka, but there’s fun stuff to do and see. We could sightsee, then do some imbibing, eat, more imbibing.
Didja forget someone???
Dinner on the go (literally) didn’t work out so well; the grease from the two slices of white dripped on my laig whilst I was walking down the street & now the pants need to be cleaned. Guess I shoulda taken a minute to sit & eat. Grrrr.
