One of my Reasons Why Charles Xavier Should Have Been Strangled At Birth is that he keeps saying “mutants and humans” like it’s two separate entities. Same as if I say “men and women” everybody understands that ‘men’ didn’t include the whole species, whereas “men and aliens” includes the whole species.
Preach it, brother. I’d be much happier if it were canon that the mutant-human semantic divide wasn’t Xavier’s doing, as it is so very stupid. It plays into the hatred of the extremists on each side. Better than Magneto or the likes of Larry Trask have popularized such a term; Xavier should be seen as actively fighting against it.
Oh sure. People in their canon often don’t consider the X-Men human, so why should we?
