Another Australian here. Can’t say I have any real impression of other Aussies on here; there are certainly some, but we haven’t come to my notice as being disproportionately represented here either way.

As Yojimbo touched upon, a fair few of the Brits stopped posting here after it went pay-to-post but are still frequent posters on NADs which started off as a kind of anglo-centric offshoot of this place (we were bored with having to explain that Brits don’t eat “Kidney Pie”).

Since this list plus the USA is almost the entire world, this seems to me to be a very roundabout way of saying “Few Dopers are African or Pacific islanders”.

Couldn’t have said it better. What I didn’t say before, but what should have been said, is that if you’re not in the USA (whether originally from another country or not) the likelihood (from greatest to least) is that you are from: (see list quoted above).
The flurry of posts since I posted the summary (on the previous page) convinces me I was right not to have posted totals. Even though the number of unique Dopers (either posting or being included in other people’s posts) must now be over 100, it is still likely to be too few to constitute a significant sample of the thousands of Dopers who are currently active.
One more thing: I did mention before, in passing, that I didn’t include in the summary those who are now in the USA, whether they are from another country originally or not. Perhaps another thread with different criteria might help to identify and count those Dopers. Otherwise, IMHO, the population would get even fuzzier as to where people are currently located. Dopers originally from the USA but living (posting) from another country are being counted, however.
I will continue to update the file where the summary data is being kept, and will post another summary if/when we get into another page – over 150 actual posts.
